When mine went through customs, it took a while. UK customs had actually opened the package and checked the contents (was covered in their ‘this has been inspected tape’).

Perhaps there’s something about the package that when X-rayaed, appears to be something more sinister... ?

It’s a blank hilt, what do they think it could be? It’s a piece of metal, not even any sharp edges.
I check the shipping site every day, and no movement.

I got a couple of friends that work in customs at JFK where the package is “stuck”, but I doubt they deal with mail. I’ll ask.
 
It came this morning! Can’t believe how great it looks and feels. It’s 99% ready to go out of the box...I just need a chassis and a crystal chamber now.

**by the way the tracking info never changed, still says it’s stuck in customs.

Hello. I’m curios why a v2 chassis wouldn’t fit in the v3. Have the internal dimensions of the v3 changed in any way? I a, looking for a chassis which is why I ask.
 
I received mine today that I managed to pick up from KR sabers in the UK, this is a stunning piece and a excellent addition to my Luke collection. I have a little experience with weathering aluminium but not brass, could you tell me how you weathered the brass please? Also is the hilt sealed or coated with anything that needs to be removed before I can start the weathering process?

Hey! I'm glad that you like it.

You can weather the brass using ammonia vapors. Put some ammonia (in the bottle cap) and the details in sealed container and wait a few hours.
The degree of aging can be controlled visually if the container is transparent.

All the aluminum parts have no coating (except the grenade section that anodised in black) :)
 
That’s great thanks, did you ever do a weathering tutorial? What lacquer do you use to seal them after you

Mine arrived some time ago, and it’s amazing! I’m looking forward to adding a chassis and such to bring it to life.

I’ve never done this before, Is there a parts list or process instructions anywhere?
