ORCA scratch build

I bought some plans to make the orca a long time ago. Just one of those projects I'd get to one day. I wanted to do it in 6th scale but I have to admit I just don't have the room for it. So because Neca has the new Hooper that settled it for scale. I'll have to make a Brody but thats little...

Orca's winch. The last picture shows the hook that came with the winch kit on the right. On the left is a latch from a 1/6th pilot figure that is like the winch hook on the Orca. The same pilot figure had the locator beacon.

Had to post a small update. I'm so excited. I don't have a drill press, but a neighbor does and let me use it to drill the 14 rungs/steps on the mast. Tonight I can drill the holes for the lights, bell, winch brace, and boom brace. I am loving building this mast.

The best close up of the mast wind vane, is the very end of the movie with Hooper and Brody together after Hooper pops back up asking about Quint. The tip of the sharks tail look very sharp, and yes metal. But,....I did love the idea on yours of having real sharks tails. Think about it, Quints shack is covered with them. All over the pilings on the dock, and under the eve by Quints workshop. I'd leave it the way you have it.
By the by, for the forward cabin stain. I'm using Golden Oak. The bathroom walls , or what was the bathroom walls is painted white up to the door and end of the bed.
