Now I have a question or rather feedback. Marty Milner has told me, on the real Orca, the v-birth was never worked on or fixed up, because it was never meant to be on camera. When the v-birth door swings open, it looks dingy Grey and weathered. Marty told me that the side wall stringers were ripped away to expose the outer hull. This aided the crew in placing all the lead from the dentists office in the lowest part of the forward keel. Here's the question I'm putting to you all. Do I finish the v-birth like Hooper and Brody were using it? Or do I model it all ratty, torn up, Grey weathered like the JAWS crew saw it? Things that make you go hummmmmmm....... Oh.... I can see all the gears turning and smoke coming from your brains lol.......annnnnnd Action....!

I screwed up! The barrels I made 2 years ago are 10mm height and width too small. As Filmzy knows 10mm is a lot and aesthetically makes or breaks the whole forward cabin roof. I can get the cabin roof done, but can't finish the storage bins, barrel cage, or front window, until I get the barrels printed. That's going to be awhile as I'm trying with the help of my brother in law to finish another project. Filmzy, the fins and dorsal don't match up to the body. Moving ahead with the ORCA, as you've watched this build, you know I mock up most of the pieces before I build them. Ladies and gentlemen, the flying bridge.

Nice work. Went back to your beginning on bulkhead sections. A key to building a replica model ship IMHO is an authentic hull.

Please let me know your reference in developing yours.

This is the design I used from a post on another website. I had to modify the design some. The bulkheads were cut so the bow has the Novi rake up to the bow, and also a slight rake up in the stern. Finding the deck heights was a true pain in the butt. Thought i'd never get the hull done. Took me over a year to build just the hull and get all the electronics and running hardware installed.

Thank you DCN. Kind of you to share and describe the effort it takes. A true pleasure reviewing the Orca models presented by folks on this website. Classical beauty of ship design.

Finishing stretch. This is the point when every day I was excited to add more.
That is the truth! I was working on the boat so long last night trying to get the correct height and width of the flying bridge templates done, My dog came down the basement to get me. It's time to go out don't ya know. I hope tonight and can get the flying bridge sides cut out. I see things moving along, just not at the speed I'd like. So I guess slow and steady it is.
