From the Madlyn Burkert article...

A silver and rose gold base along the grip has been accented with Mother of Pearl inlay, and designers added a D-ring to the end to match other lightsabers of the era. “It has a belt hook but it also has the D-ring that some original trilogy lightsabers had.”

The article did say that: although Burkert herself said MOP and copper during the video shoot so they didn’t quote her directly. Is that a correction or mistake.
I wonder which is accurate.
OR, if there’s a copper belt hanger and a rose gold hero?

After lurking here for about 15 years (and mostly obsessing over the Obi-Wan Kenobi ANH saber real parts discoveries), this is the thread that finally got me to officially join to make my first post saying... "I'm interested."

No fancy picture updates today, but I'll try to get some glamour shots for you all soon.

I've been hard at work on overlays but nothing I am satisfied with yet.

Other items:

Yes it looks like I can get a recessed pixel socket in the emitter. HOWEVER, this is subject to stress simulations as it may make the neck too weak. In fact I am a little nervous about all these windows being particularly strong anyway so I am running an impact simulation with 8000 Newtons (major league baseball batter force applied to a baseball). This is likely to cause a failure but I am hoping to see what level of force it CAN withstand before failing.

Other minor items. BRRogers and I are both now happy with the windvane guts and emitter hallmarks.

I've gotten a rough design of the box and such yet to get verified and overlaid.

But the assembly is nearly finished for full FX machining.

Ok ok fine.... one model shot...

here is where we are:

Looking so good!
Have you started the "display" emitter details yet, or waiting to work on that until you've got the fx internals worked out?

Q; Given that its on the side 180 from the activator button where is the hero shot that shows the saber without the belt clip?

given the switch is not visible it is on the opposite side somewhere. And given that, the clip would be in view somewhere.

it is also confirmed the Tatooine shots were filmed early. So it is one of two possible situations: 1.) multiple props, a hero and a belt hanger or 2.) the clip was added subsequently after the tatooine shots.
