Believe me I'm all for happy endings. I loved the end of Return of the Jedi. I just feel this would feel out of left field because it hasn't been established well. Plus I simply don't care about these new characters at all so I'm not invested in their story.

Ep. 8 seemed content with telling kids to never meet their heroes because they will leave a mess for you to clean up. Not exactly uplifting either. And to not rely on anyone but yourself.

I just don't get your love for this story. I'm happy you find it satisfying but it simply eludes me.

I guess I'm just a cynical old man. Lol

What did I miss? Oh more TLJ discussion! How I love this!

How does everyone feel about Luke living on the island, eating giant fish and drinking green t%*ty milk?

Then you should be against TFA. That's the film were it was introduced to us that Luke was in exile. Not TLJ.

That's not my problem. Luke acting like a jerk, trying to kill his nephew, and cutting himself off from everyone (at least how it was written) is my problem. Trying to kill Ben, I think, would be the big thing that shows the writer(s) didn't watch or understand the OT. When you don't know your dad, who BLEW UP A PLANET, killed all the Jedi including little kids, etc. and your first instinct is to save him, but you immediately (I don't care how infinitesimal the thought process was) think you should kill your nephew who you watched grow up for 18+ years, maybe the writers messed up.

Except Luke's got a Dark Side to him. You could literally apply Yoda's line about Anakin in ROTS to that flashback scene in TLJ. "Twisted by the Dark Side young Skywalker has become."
Aunt Beru said. "He's just not a farmer Owen. He's got to much of his father in him." "That's what I'm afraid of." And what did his father do?

Further more we've seen how Luke acts when his sister is in danger. He dashes of to Cloud City when sees a vision of her in pain. He tries to kill his father, when he threatens to kill her? Nope he threatens to turn her to the Dark Side. So here we have Luke experiencing a trippy Force vision(and we've seen how emotional and surreal those are) where Luke witnesses his sister's death at the hand of his nephew. And Luke is briefly tempted to take him nephews life. This so very consistent. Not to mention it ties in with this whole notion of the Skywalker men being the catalyst for the very thing they are trying to prevent.

You will now be able to get Blu Ray and DVD with digital copy code.

That's cool that these will be available in 3 different formats. Though I detest the lazy photoshopped art. Not that the past few release cover art has been good by any stretch of the imagination. Oh how I miss the days of painted art by Drew Struzan!
