eFX - BO-KATAN KRYZE HELMET - LEGEND EDITION

Yeah I’m not disputing that. They should be perfect, I agree. Due to the shipping situation it is what it is and my happiness is based on the fact that mine was overall close to perfect, given the situation. However, of course I’d be happier had it been without the faint lines. Tbh, I think they would have nailed it with these helmets had they not wrapped it with that plastic to hold the range finder. Hopefully it’s a lesson learned.
I really understand what you wanna say.And I bet for the bosses of EFX its also a big shock. But when I produce in china I must have persons there that can do the qualitycontrol before shipping. And its not the first time that the quality is bad. When the toyhelmets from Hasbro have a better quality like the high end ones from EFX then something is going wrong.Every kid should know that some paints can glue together with surfaces over time.

We contacted sideshow to see if they were aware of the issue with these helmets, but it was news to the customer service member we talked to. They also aren't going to check the boxes to see if they have the same issue.
I really hope they don't send me a bad helmet that will have a very high import fee attached to it only to have to send it back for a replacement/fix, because that would be a really expensive venture all together..

Did you happen to get an estimate on when Sideshow planned to ship them? I’ve been checking my email every morning hoping for the shipping notification.. The wait is killing me haha.

No shipping notice from Spec Fiction either yet, despite receiving the invoice for the remaining balance a week ago.

I think I'll just end up returning mine if it has issues instead of replacing it just to possibly end up with the same result. I'm hoping that if a bunch of these get returned, we might see them sold heavily discounted either on eBay or as B-grades/scratch-and-dent sales from retailers. If they're discounted enough, it may be worth picking one up again later to have repainted.

For those waiting for an update from Sideshow, here is what I was told:

“The current estimated arrival is June 2024. This is the most up-to-date information that we have available and this can be found on the item's product page.

Keep in mind that around 10 business days ahead of the product's arrival to us, we'll send you an email with an arrival notice, processing date, and the final balance due. Your final balance will include the sales tax and shipping fees that we cannot process until your order is in stock and ready to ship. At the moment we have not heard about any paint issues with these pieces, however, if you encounter any issues when receiving your order, you should be still covered under our Sideshow Return and Exchange Warranty.”

So if I’m understanding this correctly, they don’t even have the helmets yet. The arrival is in reference to them getting the helmets, so I’d guess delivery to customers will be sometime in July…

Explanation by EFX to someone who received a bad helmet:

"To put it in a simple terms, it was factory human error and a mixed up on some cleaner used during final pack out, which caused a chemical reaction between the paint and the plastic wrap that affected a small number of units.

The issue did not surfaced until after the prolonged journey in the container. And we have already resolved the issue on any new shipment going out to customers, and unfortunately, yours was one of the earlier one before the issue was discovered and action taken."

TLDR - “we rushed these out the door because they were late and Disney is already on our asses about poor performance with their license…”

Thanks for the info...hopefully the shipment Spec Fiction receives will be defect-free. So in this instance, it may be for the best that Spec is behind on shipping them out to us compared to ordering directly from EFX ;)

Here is my replacement. First thing I saw was that the plastic wrap around the helmet is gone.
This is the helmet that I and others should have received the first time.

Glad they were able to fix it so quickly! Hope they have enough replacements on hand for the folks that need them…

Perfect, from now on we only want to see pictures like this of the Bo Katan helmets!
Hopefully retailers like Sideshow etc. will get a good batch straight away so that there won't be any exchanges and complaints.
