Hi All!
We had sent out our first newsletter last month and we have done several interviews on Rebelscum, Star Wars Action News, etc. in regards to our product line, including the Stormtrooper Helmet. Obviously, many people missed these, so here is a brief summary:
The Stormtrooper Helmet was not originally part of our product plan. However, as many of you know, many collectors were extremely disappointed when their order for a Stormtrooper Helmet was cancelled by either Master Replicas or their Authorized Retailers. Unfortunately not enough helmets were made and shipped before MR’s license expired and as a result, customers were unable to own this iconic helmet.
We discussed this issue with Lucasfilm to determine a way to help out the customers and fix this short fall. Rather than see disappointed collectors facing high prices on e-Bay, etc., Lucasfilm granted eFX special permission to make additional helmets at this time, even though it was not part of our original product plan.
Therefore, anyone who ordered a helmet directly from Master Replicas will have priority for these helmets. MR has agreed to verify any names of customers who ordered direct and had their orders canceled. As for the customers who ordered from an authorized retailer, unfortunately, there is no way that we can verify the names of any pre-orders.
As for the MR Edition size, the published edition size was 2,500; however, when MR found out around October that the factory would not be able to make the all 2,500 pieces before their contract expired, they cut off the sales at approximately 1,500. Then unfortunately, in December, the factory informed MR that they would only be able to make approximately 1,000 helmets. Thus, there was a shortage of about 500 ACTUAL orders. This is the reason that we are only making 500 pieces, since that is the edition size that some of the customers were aware of when they ordered, regardless of the 2,500 published edition size.
As we have been advertising for some time, our inaugural products will be unveiled for the first time at Comic Con in San Diego, and that will still be the case. We are very excited about our line up that we are planning on showing. I hope that many of you will be able to make it to San Diego to see our new products and we will have the opportunity to be able to meet and talk with you, as well.
