These weren't made with the same precision as the fan made ones that have been available here. These are mass produced and the fit/finish reflects that. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice saber and, for the money, I don't think we could have asked for much more. Here are my initial observations:
-Packaging is very nice. Very much reminiscent of Master Replicas (for obvious reasons)
-Display base and stand are very nice and well made. Acrylic cover would have been nice, but that has already been discussed.
-When the front portion of the saber is fully extended, it is loose and wobbly. Not terribly so. Given how it is constructed, this is understandable.
-Plastic switch to light up the crystal is loose, wobbly. The switch is actually a linkage to a smaller switch on the circuit board. This feels like a possible point of failure if not handled gently.
-Green crystal light is very bright and the pulsating effect is really cool.
-Black paint stripes on the control box cover are not applied evenly. The edges are not crisp. Least attractive part of mine so far.
-The locking mechanisms on all the moving portions have a very satisfying click and lock well.
-The saber is not rock solid when closed. There is some play. Again, understandable given the design.
The above are not meant as complaints, just observations. As previously stated, the saber is very nice. At this price point, I don't think we could expect more.
