eFX - BO-KATAN KRYZE HELMET - LEGEND EDITION

EFX is at SDCC this year, I wonder what they’ll announce, if anything. Sabine, Koska, BoBF Boba? I also wonder if a PCR Bo will be coming.

Last year they had on display a Dark trooper and revealed a 332nd clone helmet at their panel. Maybe now they'll finally be available for preorder.

Got mine in. So I have a 62cm head size. Maybe I must have a weird head shape cause I am able to wear it. It's an exact snug fit and my chin slightly sticks out the bottom. Of course, I have to remove the neck ring to wear it. I am excited about that. I believed it would be impossibly small. In person the silver on the helmet looks better than in some people's photos.

Regarding the paint issue, I can still see the lines left by the plastic wrap that was previously there. It's very hard to photograph with my phone, but when the light catches it I can definitely see the glossy horizontal lines on mine.

It seems to be that the details on the helmet are waterslide decals or something similar. You can see the clear edges around all the details. They're particularly wonky around the circles on the forehead.

There is one spot on mine where a bit of weathering seems to misaligned or was touched up. I don't see this white spot on any one else's helmet.

Got mine from Spec today, thankfully the paint looks great, no line impressions anywhere. This is my first helmet prop, always loved the design and colors on this helm, very happy with the final product :)

I’d love to see how the water slide is applied on these.. it always boggles my mind how they do it

I think I want to have mine repainted in the future. The interior and lineage sculpt make it worth keeping and set it above. The finish overall looks impressive, but several things already pointed out (the clear offset edges around the details, the asymmetrical owl eyes, the still faintly noticeable impressions from the plastic wrap, the chrome on the ears and vents being flat metallic instead of really chrome, the random white spot on mine) make me want it overhauled.

Yeah, mine doesn't have those edges on the gray owl eyes or black brow between them, nor the white spot you showed or any horizontal lines from plastic wrap.

Not sure what retailer you used, but have you considered returning it for a replacement?

That's odd. I used Spec Fiction.
When I run my finger over the black arrow/V on the forehead there is definitely a layer on top. I can feel the edges below where the line is.

Makes me wonder if there were defects they tried to repair on this one, and that's just how they did it  It should be reasonable to ask for a replacement, especially considering there were issues with the first few that EFX sent out.

I sent them an email asking for a replacement and included examples of a damaged one and a mint condition one to help illustrate what was repaired and what it should look like. Hopefully they have replacements available or expect more in stock soon.

Emailed EFX to see what they'd say. I asked if mine was a repaired or touched up helmet that was affected by the plastic wrap and provided them the photos. Larry at EFX responded saying it does appear to be an affected unit. I am still waiting for a response from Spec Fiction, but at least I can include Larry's response to support the case.

Took some side by sides with my very heavy resin fiberglass helmet from Redman Studio Workshop. Overall I really love the paint job on the EFX, the damage on the rangefinder side eye just irks me a bit as I've only ever seen that damage on the SDCC Display Helmet and the Season 3 event Display. Has anyone been able to match it with any screen caps of the show?
