one thing that pissed me off about the "Super" Preds is how when they're not shown, they're strategy genius who can **** with the best and get away easy... What happened to the smarts when they DO show up?

it looks similar, im not sure it is though, need to wait till its on BR so you can freeze frame.

I've seen it twice and have researched the original design before, I am almost positive it is the same one, or its so close to the original design its an obvious tribute.

um, did you forget they are ******* with Earths best? They arent invincible or perfect.

So, I thought it was a pretty decent pred movie. 10 times better that the last 2. I was wondering about the spaceship start up. The P-1 pred started the ship but then the other pred who he was battling blew it up. Did they both come on that ship and just now started hating each other. I thought it was strange. I will it again. It was fairly inspirational for working on stuff.

just got back from seeing it. i loved the movie :D the feel and tension were like the first. the score was amazing :p i agree with everyone that commented on LF's character being too fat! but he did do a good job with the way he played crazy IMO. i mean who wouldn't loose their marbles. i just wish that the fight scenes with the falconer vs hanzo and royce vs black would have been longer. i also wanted to see more of the falconer and his falcon, but other than that i have no complaints. i will see this movie a second time

order of magnificence to lack there of: (at least for me)
Predator
Predators
Predator 2
AVP
AVPR

I also agree i wish i could have seen the falconers' uav in the film a little bit more. I also really wanted to a see an elder from the new tribe, but besides that i loved it. Ive seen it twice already love the new designs too.

Ok guys, this is the first review I have ever written on a film, just came back from seeing this, so here it goes...................bear in mind, I havent read anyone elses reviews on this yet, so I am writing this purely off of what I saw, but I will come back to read lots of others opinions later on. Thx

First off, I rate this movie a 7.5/10. The biggest thing that killed this movie for me was all the things pretty much copied from the the original Predator film, which imo will never be beat, along with Predator 2. Why I say that is because they were original, from the design to all the scenes. If this movie did not have all the similar stuff from the original, I would have given it a 8.5-9/10.

Now to the things that really irked me about this film. Fist off, you cant deny the fact that it was completely lame to copy Stan's masterpiece almost to a tee, and then have him beat around like a little kid. I still have no explanation why he was in this film. The Yakuza guy, taking off his shirt with a big sword looks familiar doesn't? Remember Billy? Yes it helped that this battle was a lot better, but again, taken from the 1st. The first time we even get mention of a Predator in this film, much like the first, it copied the scene where the Predator does all the vioce manipulations while a human is staring directly at him. Of course, how can we forget the final battle scene with Arnold, all covered in mud with his shirt off. Well, we get the same circumstance in this film as well. Of course, all these things were not copied exactly, but to me, a huge P1 fan, these types of scenes stood out like a sore thumb to me, and I was really bothered by them.

The only other things that bothered me was that Brody looked so out of place in this film for about 3/4 of the film. It was like he was trying to hard to be someone he wasn't. He just couldn't pull off the whole I'm such a bad ass bit, I think he still could have pulled off lead actor, but he should have been more like himself instead of trying to be like Christian Bale. It was very noticeable. I bought the fact that Fishburne was a Looney tune, but it really just didnt fit in too well; that could have been handled a lot better, but I liked the fact that there was a human that had survived through many years, and we get a sense of his perspective.

Now lets get to the things I like about this film. I am now over the fact that the Bererker is a ugly SOB, literally lol. I now really respect his design. We get a better explanation to why he is so unique looking when Fish tells them that the difference is like Dogs to Wolves, I though that made a lot of sense to why these Preds were superior in some ways compared to others. I hated the "super Pred" things we heard about a long time ago, the real explanation is much better. Although the Berserker was a complete bad ass, I didn't get the sense of that from the others. Lets just say, I didnt like the other 2 Preds design wise at all or the way they played off of the lead Pred.

I do wander though, where the hell Sideshow got the idea for the new Tracker maquette when the Dogs didn't even have chains at all in this film, they were controlled by sound, so safe to say, I will never get that maquette; first it was based off design, but now cause it makes no sense to me. SS, WTH? :cuckoo:

Ok, on to so more positives........This film had so many better action scenes and better kills then any of the other Pred movies. I loved it!. They were what kept me interested. I was very happy to see a Pred vs. Pred battle, I didn't like the outcome, and in fact, I wished it would have been the final battle with the Winston Pred winning. If that would have been the case, I would have thought RR was giving Stan respect, but I feel he copied his design and bashed it at the same time. Nevertheless, it was a interesting battle that I wished would have been longer, but it was awesome to see. The kills were great, except the way Fish dies, cause when have we ever seen one blast blow up a whole body before?. The Pred dogs were cool, but I have no idea what the beast was that Fish killed, but it was nice to see another monster in there. Topher was suprisingly good actually, we don't see it until the end, but I liked his role in the film, the twist at the end was nice and he was very convincing.

The overall action in this film was great, but I'm sure like many others, we would like to see more Preds in action cause they are why we go to see these films anyways right? I enjoyed the final couple of scenes, I thought they were pretty clever. I like the new shoulder cannons these Preds had, and the single, long blade that can also shoot out was pretty cool. So, I still rank these behind the first 2, but they were much better done than the AVP flicks. There was some descent acting, but again, all the Predator 1 parodies held it back from becoming its own and seperating itself from the Winston and AVP movies.

Just got home from watching the film. I got to say, I'm pretty disappointed too. One thing that really bugged me was the fact that Isabelle looked into her sniper scope every 10 seconds, even when her view was most likely obstructed by plants. Someone also mentioned that they panzifyed the main preds, and I totally agree. They should've kept it original and let them hunt without any other biological creatures helping them. It made them look weak. The two beheadings were a bit overboard. What I did like though were the P1 references. And you can't argue about Mr. Black, he was badass :p

It was an okay movie though. Actors were great. The way the film unraveled was not very. I think the thing that just got me so bummed was the fact that people were giving amazing reviews that made me think that I was definitely going to be mystified by this movie :D. Was still enjoyable, though im never putting my hopes up that high again!

I'm still blown away at how cool it was to see a brand new predator movie..

some of the reviews i'm reading from the members here are just breaking it down to such a level of detail i can't understand why....

it was to me like the first pred film, as per P1 director John McTiernan said a "great popcorn action movie". it's not the godfather or casablanca.

no xenos no bad actors...just a kick ass action movie. enjoy it for it's intent. I know we're a hard bunch to please but damn 20 years later our favorite monster is back on the big screen......sit back and take the critial fan boy glasses off....and :D

I think that scene just showed that any Pred can launch a ship via gauntlet. Same technology, same results. The type of society they live in I don't think they worry to much about who took their "car." lol Though it might have been cooler it they showed the classic Pred struggling to decrypt some sort of code before he got the launch. That might have show that there was an actual difference from one Pred type to another.

Maybe it was the P-1's ship to start with and they took it over (sorta like a car jack) when they captured him, giving them control also over it. He got access back to it via his gauntlet when he was freed by Royce. As for the movie I LOVED IT !!! :D I liked all the wink wink's to the original film too. Plus they added new characters and stuff too. It just shows that there's more Predator loar to be explored (tribes, bad bloods, worlds, Predators etc), more story's to be told. Yes Mr. Black (Berserker) is a bad ass, don’t be so mad just cause the P-1 lost he put up a good fight. Just like humans you have tall, short, light weights and heavy weights. And besides most dogs are going to loose to a Wolfe when its one on one anyway. I like all the Predator films true some are liked more over others but they all have there place and tell more and more about the Predators we all love. Now how is Royce and Isabelle (glad she made it too) going to get off that planet? And will we ever get to see more of the Preds home planet that we saw a clip of in AVPR? O yea if they need an extra for Preds in the Predator city free of charge (suit will travel :p ) count me in!

Working at a movie theatre has always been fun for me, and last night was awesome!! Predators was the 2nd most popular film yesterday, Despicable Me was in first place but hey kids movies always do well, but everytime I sold a ticket for Predators it made me smile. Everyone I talked to after their movie was over really enjoyed it, and believe me i was curious as to what they thought. Between that and having my P1 bio I got from Casey on display and having people geek out over it (some even asked me if it was for sale) i was very happy to be at work last night!

I'm sure your not directing that to me specifically, and Its not that I bashed the film, its just that, you know, we have seen some of the same things used 20years ago in the original. I mean come on, at least come up with something original RR, instead of stealing some ideas already used and just slghtly changing it. The only reason why it bothers me is cause I have so much respect for Stan's work, and I just feel like RR ripped some stuff off, and it just feels like hes disrespecting Stan without actually saying anything. That was the onyl thing that killed it for me, everything else for the most part was good. :p. I'm sure casual fans really like it and have no idea what I'm talking about lol.

Going back tonight...gonna have me some fun tonight...gonna have me some fun tonight!!! Whooooo-yeah!
Should've made this a line for Noland! :D
Now how is Royce and Isabelle (glad she made it too) going to get off that planet?
Well at the end, more parachutes were falling from the sky, and if I heard correctly, this was an illegal game perserve made by bad bloods. So, there's got to be more ships out there for them to steal in a sequel! :p

Perfect. Friggin perfect. My only gripes: fat, schizo Noeland. But his role was brief. And we needed him to explain the whole thing to us. Not crazy about single blade gaunts. Those are minor quibbles. I'd give it a 95/100. I'm blown away. I don't get the negative reviews in the slightest. What the hell more could people want? And I've heard gripes about the end. I LOVE ambiguous endings. I hate neat, pat, easy endings. It was so dumb when Will Smith flew the spacecraft in ID4. It was so cool that the Pred was auto programming it to fly to Earth. And so cool that they didn't take the easy way out and let the humans escape. Pitch perfect ending to my mind. I don't get why some people need their movies tied up with a bow.

Frankly, I think it was better than every other Pred movie, with the exception of the fact that you need P1 to establish everything. But I preferred it to the other four on every level. I'm so excited the Pred, after 23 years, got some respect again.

Seriously, what more did people want?!

I want to see those samurai in action...

if you guys listened to LF ( Nolan ) telling the story about the blood fued he says that the 3 big ones come every season when one or 2 die they come back and it is always 3, New armor, weapons but always 3. whats to say this game preserve isnt the same as AVP where new bloods come in to get their experience but without the honor code. either way its just a movie
