new USA made Godzilla film

I thought the last one was alright, but always happy to see a new Godzilla. Would love to see a design closer to the original this time.:thumbsup
 
Nah, the appeal of godzilla has always been that it's very Japanese, has a guy in a suit and real miniature environments, hollywood just won't consider these sorts of ideas in a modern film.
Expect Shia LeBouff a million MTV style cuts a minute and something about DNA and that's what they're likeley planning.
 
I do not want to see another Cloverfield. I hated that movie - Godzilla is too good and fun for that.
 
Would you guys accept the "guy in the suit" option for Godzilla?

Make a suit that looks just like the old time Godzilla we all love.

Would that work for you?

I think it would for me.

:lol No... no that isn't going to work.

They could however give us a design that looks much more like Godzilla.
 
I thought eh last one was ok till the end with the mini godzillas..I absolutly loved the design work and the animation on him.

Um yeah! Godzilla needs to actually look like Godzilla. Crazy talk I know. :lol
In fact if I don't get a recognizable design AND entity that is the Japanese Godzilla... the hell with them!

Godzilla has been updated many times to a fine modern design, totally acceptable in my opinion for any big budget film.

The secret of Godzilla is he is a character, not a "monster".
Godzilla has an intelligence. He is a force of nature, he is a payback from nature, he is even a warrior, he is a mirror for humanity even because we created him. The Japanese breathed a soul into him in the better films.
The whole Japanese love/hate thing for him has to be there in any real Godzilla film.


There are 1000 ways they can screw this up just as bad as the last time.
That wasn't Godzilla that is for sure. Totally unrecognizable.

Again, someone needs to sit down, watch the Godzilla films, process the character, and get it right this time.

What are the odds of that happening these days?

I really did not like the Iguana Godzilla & Little Iguana Godzilla Babies. The original is STILL the best :thumbsup I did like the Winston Studios Concept Godzilla... too bad it was rejected for the CG Iguana Godzilla :cry

:sick I just threw up a little bit in my mouth at this news.

The only BRIGHT spot is that if the US screws this up again Toyoko steps back in and actually makes a good movie like they did with Godzilla 2000.

Leave the big guy to the Japanese, they know how to make these movies, just screw them up.
 
Can't USA make a movie about Gamera instead.
