**Update**

Currently tracking the package everyone! It's on it's way to my local depot, to be delivered tomorrow (10/06)

Was hoping to get them in my hands today, but it is what it is. I did think that Tuesday was VERY optimistic, but I have a tracking number now and they're within driving distance. So I'm confident that they'll be here sometime tomorrow.

Sorry for getting your hopes up if you've been looking forward to seeing more images today everyone.

As soon as I get them tomorrow, I'll get some beauty shots up for you all before getting them sent out to everyone.

Thanks again for your patience everyone.

Dave

*Update*

I have some very good news and *some* bad news.

The good news:

The last remaining CNC parts arrived yesterday. I was very pleasantly surprised by how quickly they were delivered after being completed.

The machinists have done an exceptional job! I'm really very happy with the results, and I'm sure you will be too. This was my biggest concern obviously.

The bad news:

After all this time/work/effort, this is how the parts arrived at my door:

IMG_20200610_101220~2.jpg

To say that I'm furious would be an understatement! This has nothing to do with international shipping. The parts had gone through quality control and had been packed and sent from within the UK (via DPD)

Thankfully, it isn't as bad as it looks! I spent yesterday evening cataloguing the parts and putting any damaged ones to one side.

12/33 hilts have been damaged. The rest are completely unscathed. 2 of those are mine, and 4 have yet to be paid for. The other six are spoken for though, so let me first of all apologise, but also I'd like to reassure you...

The damaged parts are already in the process of being replaced. At no cost to anyone other than the delivery company. This will not be the long wait that we saw with the initial order, so hopefully the problem will be resolved soon.

As for the quality of the parts, I'm really VERY happy!

As promised, here are some beauty shots (although taken on my phone under poor lighting):

Hope you're all happy with how everything is looking anyway. It did put a bit of a dampener on an otherwise exciting day.

What happens next?

Unfortunately, I am working as normal at my usual 9-5 Wed-Thursday, so it's going to be Saturday before I can get these good ones posted out.

Hopefully you can appreciate there are a lot to get through and package up! It took all night, last night just to inspect each individual piece. Everyone's boxes are made up ready to be packed, I just want to give everything a quick once over before getting them sealed up.

It's going to be a fairly long process getting everything handed over at the post office too, so there's just no way of fitting that in during the working day unfortunately.

The majority of you can look forward to receiving your tracking details on Saturday though. I will have to base it on the order in which people paid I'm afraid. As soon as I have a date for the replacement parts, I'll update everyone on here of that too.

Thanks again for your patience everyone. It's really appreciated under these stressful circumstances!

Exciting days! We have finally seen the epic hero!!

Man that sux, i've seen this happen to others on here a few times. Right at the end, when everythings coming together, the careless postal service or courier just trash it.
But at least you've got it sorted and they are fixing it.
Look foward to more pics once people start finishing them!

What’s the damaged ones look like dave? Will they be for sale?
Really VERY minor damage. But no good to use obviously as they need to be perfect.

It's mostly things like this:

IMG_20200610_191514~2.jpg

The procedure is usually to send back the damaged ones, but I have asked for a price to see if they'd sell them back to me.

Seems a shame to have them melted down!

Depending on what they say I might take them and offer them on the junkyard. Someone with better metalworking skills than me could probably repair them. Could work with the battle damaged look of the Yuma maybe? Or a not entirely accurate V2?

Really depends on how much they ask for/what people are willing to pay?

*Update*

Just a quick update guys...

It was a very busy day yesterday! It was a bit silly of me to think that I could just put the parts straight in their boxes and send them out to you as they were on the same day. Especially considering that the post office closes at lunchtime on a Saturday! They are really great, but as with any CNC'd part, there are *some* tool marks that need to be gotten rid of. I couldn't send them out as they were.

So, I've spent some time removing *most* of the tool marks, and any other minor scratches. It is a kit after all, so you may want to take this further yourself before starting your build.

Here's a before and after:

Before.jpg
During.jpg
After.jpg

One last job has come to my attention, that needs fixing before I can send these out. Nothing to worry about. I've tested the threading on all the parts, and I'm happy to say that the threading is a perfect match with the screws I've bought for the kits. They're a standard M4 thread, but it was still a worry until I'd had a chance to test them.

The only very minor problem is with the ISYHCANL box. When attached, the crews are a fraction of a millimetre proud of the top of the box. The countersink that I'd added to the model is just a little too shallow. It really is a fraction of a mm, but it does create a very slight gap between the box and the card.

So, I'll be countersinking these further by hand over the course of today.

Hope that's OK with everyone.

I realise not everyone will be using the ISYHCANL, but I would just like everything to be perfect if that's OK.

As for the replacements for the damaged units, they've been started already and I'm hoping to have them within a week. With it being an existing order, the cutting paths have already been established, so It's going to be much quicker to get these made (thankfully!).

I've gone through PayPal and worked out who's will be posted first (Mon/Tue this week), and who's will be posted when the replacements arrive:

First wave:

Inigou
Jakob2121
Poikilotherm
Hylo133
bluetree1o
Davidishida
Theh0rse
Nailuj
Mech10
acyang
Kevin Yang

darthcue

Second Wave:

Han Solo Fan
Boba Flint
Djblingbling1
Scruffylooking
Bostonfin
Starbuc

Reserved/Awaiting payment:

Juajn7fernandez
Propfactory
Morgan (FB)

Hope that's OK with everyone.

I'm still waiting to hear back about the damaged parts. Depending on what the manufacturer says, I might be purchasing them back to offer on the junkyard. Some of the damage is very minor. With that in mind, I'd recommend that people keep their spare control boxes as there could be some demand for them. Watch this space!

Anyway, as always, thanks for your patience. Very close to sending these out now! Starting tomorrow (possibly Tuesday).

All the best,

Dave

Well said Raiders March. Thank you very much Dave for offering such a great product and all your effort and work you have put into it. It is greatly appreciated.

I'll be updating everyone soon and sending out tracking numbers. Heading off to the post office shortly with *half of the first wave. The other half will be boxed up by the end of today and sent out first thing tomorrow morning (*running a tad behind).

It's been a lot of work just checking/packing everything, so thanks for your patience everyone.

Anyway, I thought you might like to see the contents of each kit all laid out:
