I do think it is part Obi Wan choosing not to hide himself any longer but Star Wars has been quite inconsistent in regard to how well the jedi are known imo.

In OT, we have Han Solo talking about how the Force is BS (which could be chalked up to him being a nerf herder), but we also have top officials in the Empire also thinking the force is mystical voodoo with Vader right in front of them. I think in OT, jedi were supposed to be some secluded warrior sect working behind the scenes and are more myth than an established organization which could be why Obi Wan felt it was ok to reveal his lightsaber. Lightsabers were also initially going to be standard equipment with even stormtroopers using them (that would have been a bad idea imo).

Btw, is this another baseless rumor? Apparently Daisy Ridley may be returning to play Rey again and Disney is working on another trilogy. Hopefully they can actually plan it out first if they go that route.

Also honestly dont see how a Rey Skywalker trilogy would work given that she is already insanely powerful and any legitimate threats are already supposedly dead.
I’ve seen this rumor going around in the fall, but I never saw anyone give a source for that information…

Totally agree. With the Jedi having only been gone for 20ish years and with the PT showing what a huge role they played before then, it doesn't make much sense anymore as to why anyone would be so disbelieving of the Force and those who can wield it. I agree that I think they originally were supposed to be a bit more mysterious and elusive. Guardians of peace and justice perhaps, but maybe not quite so center stage.

Just saw that Disney wants to do another trilogy past Ep.9
A thought...
By Ep. 12, they should find out that some odd power is coming from the death star II, so they have to go explore the thing. Like, the WHOLE ENTIRE movie is them exploring it, since Return of the Jedi really showed a star in the background going supernova and wasn't really the death star blowing up, it just looked like it from the camera angle.
So then the heros find out that this odd power is coming from the hypermatter reactor...AND....it turns out that Palpatine being thrown in by Vader and the rebels shooting it, then encased his body in a super power projective energy barrier if some kind. In Rise of Skywalker they cloned him and his spirt transfered to that body, BUT NOW, his spirt has reconnected to his orginal body that is supercharged and hes back stronger THAN EVER!!!!

(Ok, yeah, that is a stupid wack idea that sadly makes more sense than, "somehow palpatine returned". Don't let anyone from Disney read this.)

I certainly hope 10-12 NEVER happens. Star Wars has had enough endings. 3 to be exact. Do we really need a FOURTH? No more Death Stars. No more Palpatines. No more Skywalkers. Just move on with the story. No more Empire/ Rebellion conflicts. Tell us something else.

We had the death star. Then, a bigger death star. Then a Super planet death star. Now....we need an ULTRA DEATH STAR.
Disney just needs to hire the guys from Capcom who worked on the Street Fighter series...and I really need to go to sleep.

I wouldn’t put it past them that they will have a kid.. that whole end scene with Ben touching her stomach I think was taken the wrong way..

Some consider him to be creating life in her as in hand force knocking her up..

I think she’ll have her own temple and raising a handful of Jedi

Some how they plan on bringing Ben back.. idk if it’s through the world between worlds or what, but the big rumors or talks are he’s coming back as well

Who will be the bad guy? No idea, nor do I care lol

Definitely. The Jedi are basically the peace keepers/main law enforcement of the senate in PT and while it could make sense for Han to not know about the force to show how behind he is, people in the Empire should be firm believers given that their best commander/warrior is a force user and war hero.

Yeah probably. The well is poisoned though and Lucasfilm under Disney has shown itself incapable of telling a good story so doubt many will bother.

And while JediMichael jokes, Disney would need to go down this path to establish any sort of "exciting" villain. Rey basically has powers equivalent to or surpassing the one and unless she gets a huge nerf following Ben's death due to the dyad deal, she is unequalled. The Skywalkers are extinct and any new force users would not be a threat. Unless they go with what the comics did with Darth Krayt's rise to power (a survivor of order 66 who goes to the dark side and reestablishes the sith) or go off-base and introduce the Yuuzhan Vong, Rey really doesnt have a legitimate threat to face off against. Introducing a Darth Krayt like figure would basically be rehashing OT/ST while the Yuuzhan Vong likely wont be taken well by fans given that this was Luke's big enemy.

Dude… you’re a freakn genius, that could totally work. I would accept that too, great thinking!!

No more adventures!

But yeah, if Daisy Ridley is coming back, they must have written her a nice fat paycheck because she seemed pretty over it after TRoS. Certainly John Boyega and Oscar Isaac did and I think more than one of them said they’d only come back if the others did.
Wasn’t there rumors of boyega signing up for his own d+ show?!

I’m very interested in post ST content, because the status quo is reset/blank and it could open the door to new stories. They waited too long to tell new stories with the OT characters so hopefully they can avoid that with these ones.

Rey losing power due to the loss of the dyad, as well as Palpatine’s death would hopefully help to balance her out in some people’s eyes. Either that or some kind of explanation that in the more extreme moments of power it was because she was acting as a conduit for the Force and less on her own ability. Once the Force is balanced again it becomes more dormant etc and she has to go it on her own.

Quite the opposite... when questioned about bringing FINN back, Boyega said: "You ain't gonna' Disney Plus me!"

(Here from 0:53 - 1:07)
Exactly! I remember the statement only to me being shocked when hearing he was signing on for his own show

Maybe it was rumor?

There can't be a 10-12. The Skywalkers are all dead. Their bloodline is over.

If it's a new story starring Rey that's another matter entirely.
