That was for Samuel L. Jackson's uncredited cameo as an extra in the background of that one scene! You know the one, where that guy does that thing!Oh wait, you mean they plan to reissue the WOK phaser with accurate paint and holotape at some point in the future? That would suck. :unsure
I want the inexplicable purple edition. :lol

:lolOh right. "I have had it with these monkey-fightin' snakes on this Monday-to-Friday starship." :rolleyes
No, the phaser is a fake. It doesn't have "BMF" engraved on it!That was for Samuel L. Jackson's uncredited cameo as an extra in the background of that one scene! You know the one, where that guy does that thing!![]()
But why is it purple. :lol
And why is the holster all glittery. This must be a disco phaser. For landing on planets that look like a disco ball. :cool
Well you can tell by the way I use my walk
I'm a woman's man - no time to talk.
I'm going to guess they needed a test phaser to make the holsters and some wise-guy painted it purple just because that was what was lying around and, maybe,, they found it funny. And, the holster was a test shot, so they were also just playing around with the gilttery material or paint.
Another thought is they thought the colors would look better on camera and they did it for a camera test, but changed it before production.
Thank you for posting pics of the innards, I don't think I'll have the stones to open mine up quite so soon. Oh and nice Playmates rebuild!
I think the TMP/TWOK phaser is the only one Playmates got even remotely correct.
Well if you notice, most alien technology tends to be red, pink, purble, orange, and any other color that contrasts with Federation silver. Perhaps in a pinch this hung on the side of some alien in some show?
I may actually look at adding the belt clip from the Playmates when I open the handle.![]()
What's up with your pics? When I click the thumbnails, I get a "404 error". :confusedI got mine in the mail (UPS) yesterday from New Force Comics. I love it. O.K. here are some inside shots. The plugs are easy to remove with the tip of an x-acto blade. They just pop out and do not appear to be glued in.

I painted the LEDs with Tamiya clear red and yellow. It looks a lot better now IMO. It looks a bit less toy like with colored LEDs.
And here is the AA next to my repainted Playmates. The Playmates is actually a wee bit bigger than the AA. I find myself almost wishing AA had put a belt clip on theirs like the Playmates has!
