I know mine is in the mail and if the tracking info is any good ill have it by wednesday... Im excited to see this bad boy, but was hoping for a little tease video or pics. I have been searching for prototype videos and other clips like they had for the TOS Tricorders before release, but havent seen anything. Im never the first to get anything so im assuming someone around here has one or if not, will have one before me. Any reviews, pics, or videos???

I picked mine up at a local comic shop this afternoon. Sweeeet! (A friend let me know that they had them yesterday, but I didn't have time.) It's pretty groovy, but a tad complicated. If you don't read the instructions, you'll probably be frustrated.

I only skimmed the instructions, and mostly got it to work. I don't know if it's cuz I didn't completely read them, or if my unit's wonky, but it does act a bit strange. Doesn't turn on/off and stay on quite like it seems like it should. But it's probably operator error.

any stores in San Diego, CA or Dallas, TX ?

Hello..anyone know if there are stores in San Diego, CA or Dallas, TX that are selling/carrying the DST TWOK Phaser ?

Thanks
D.Lee

Mine was just $30 at the comic store, minus the 10% geek discount, er, comic club discount card. :D I got it at The Source in St. Paul, MN.

I was just playing with it now, and it seems to be working fine. The problems seemed to be after removing the phaser I and reattaching it, the contacts, uh, didn't. Or the switches weren't responding somehow after I reconnected it.

I know it's kinda dumb, but I really like all the different blinky LED action they've got going on there. Simple stuff, but pretty entertaining! The buttony shape on the trigger is kind of silly, but I guess they want us to customize the things or something.... Other minor umimportant silly thing is that it doesn't "fire" until you release the trigger. If you fire quickly you don't notice. Maybe it's a safety feature so if you fire at someone... you have a split second to decide if you really want to fire. I don't know if other toy weapons fire that way or not. Doesn't seem like they would, but luckily, it's a pointless thing to even notice. :D

I am waiting for mine from EE, paid 24 bucks plus shipping I think. I hope to get it in a two days.

Anybody hear anything new about the TWOK communicators DST was going to put out?

I heard that DST has CANCELLED that product (TWOK Communicator)--and the fact that they didn't show it at San Diego Comic Con in July 2009 (after showing it in New York earlier in 2009)--was not a good sign--not enough interest apparently

I'm such a dork. I've been really looking forward to this one. I'm going to make a cup of tea and read the review!

In regards to the TWOK communicator, I chopped this out of the Art Asylum blog of 21 September 2009.

DSTChuck: Yes I agree that would be very cool someone should make that item — hey hang on, we, are. Cool…see that all worked out. Look for the TWOK communicator from DST in early 2010.

That's only a month old, so I think it's still on.

I like it except they didn't remove the break line for the big wedge-shaped trigger (which was a feature of the TMP version and not the WOK version).

Also the separated P1 just doesn't look that great actually :lol but it seems to be the original prop designers' intention so I'll let it be.

So, do the four lights sequence like in the film???

They DID in the DST promos, but they DON'T in the review.

:confused

Nice! I didn't have too high of hopes for this, but I may just have to get one.

Does anyone know of any stores in the Long Island, New York area that are selling them?

The trigger was different between the two? Huh, I never noticed. Even tho the P1 isn't as cool as the TOS P1, I still like that it separates. I think the original design was not so blunt in the back... I think. I haven't looked at the old designs for a long time. I thing I was supposed to be a little more like a bar of soap. Maybe?

I don't know if the lights blinks are accurate as to what was shown in the movie or not. But I do like the effect. The higher the force setting, the farther up the chase lights chase. And the emitter lights up differently according to the setting, too.

Are there voices or just sound effects?????? Can you turn the voices off? Enquiring minds want to know?

Yes, they do on the highest setting. Electronics are really nice, 4 different settings plus a nice overload.

I picked mine up yesterday at the local Comic Shop, I love it, best $30 I've spent in a long time.

I think they hit a home run with this one!
