DST WOK PHASER... Who got theirs?!?

If it speaks, I hope it's has the computer voice and not some recordings of Kirk or anyone else!
Plus if it talks I hope they don't waste most of the buttons doing so - please NO!:cry:lol

Damn, I'm old!
I remember seeing TOS on TV in the 60's!!!:lol:unsure

Me too. I remember seeing it in color for the first time at a friends house and was blown away by all the bright colors. This was back when most homes had something called a Black & White TV, which I'm sure most of you young ones never heard of.:lol

If it does talk you can replace the board with the WOK board. :)
I think I read that it does not talk though.

I watch Old Black & White movies all the time.

So, what's it been? 2 months since these came out? And my Local Comic Shop has STILL never been able to get Diamond to send them the one they ordered for me. Looks like I'll be ordering one (or maybe 2 if I decide that I might someday want one modified to be more accurate to the filming prop) from New Force Comics at this point. Luckily, they also have the TOS phaser with the "dark bronze" handle that's accurate to the actual hero filming prop. I've been needing to buy one of those for awhile, so I'll order both at the same time and kill 2 birds with one stone. :)

Well, I FINALLY got my Wrath of Khan phaser... YESTERDAY. It took Diamond until FEBRUARY to finally ship one to my local comic shop! I'll tell ya, that's some GREAT distribution there! :rolleyes

Oh, and the paint has some scuffs/scratches on it, too. What with that and the fact that I want to put the correct holo tape on one, I'm going to order at least one more online, and hope the paint finish isn't damaged on the second one. :unsure

I can also confirm now that the sounds are 100% IDENTICAL on both the TMP and WOK versions. Only the paint job and the control panels differ (including the use of the colored LEDs on the TMP version) but the sound board is the same on both. Just FYI.

Re: DST WOK PHASER... Here is my TWOK Phaser (LED's mod)

Simple modified Star Trek II phaser replica.

Since the LEDs were too bright, I decided to do a simple mod.

Removed screw-hole covers, then the screws holding together the Type 1 phaser. Removed the board holding the electronics in place, then 'painted' the clear LED refractors with concentrated food-color gel 'dyes'.

Yep. Very simple. Only took about 10-15 minutes total.

The 4 LEDs on the left are blue, and the 2 on the upper right are green and a pinkish-violet now...gives it an 'old school' look. :D

After the dye dried, I replaced everything to it's original configuration.
