Hey, I asked SI the same question back in Week 1, international orders don't get shipping notifications, so your shipment should have gone out when you got your instructions.

Yeah - I have a reasonably large bubble in mine in the interior of the disc (smaller bubbles too, but.. well.. I don't really care about those).
However looking at it it looks like that won't be visible when put together so I've not mentioned it

SI's themal plastic rings do seem to have formed air bubbles, both very small (<.5mm) and somewhat large (3-4mm) in them. They tend to be more easily seen when the disc is Off, less so when the disc is On (in the case of my green leds anyway). No one has even noticed it when they were examining the disc at a nightclub last night, with some of these people being prop builders that have keen eyes for such things.

The bubbles have been a total PITA as I described before. I'm looking into investing in a vacuum chamber to cure this problem.

That was pretty much my thought when I received mine. I was just thinking logistically I would have already solved any problems before taking orders.
SI has been good and responsive about replacement pieces, so I should be getting mine next week. I was a bit bummed to hear the back side of the outer ring mold is a bit warped and will just have to make do with it. I probably should have held on to the original toy outer ring and used that instead, but I threw it out weeks before I received my kit and started gutting it out, so I'm kinda stuck with it.

As I've only just started with mine and haven't put it together I wasn't going to bother SI unless it was a big deal when I screwed it all back together.
My inner rings are fine, so *shrugs*
If I put it together and it's a huge issue I'll care, but right now it's not a problem.
Casting the thermoplastic brings down the mold time (as SI mentioned above) that makes it more prone to bubbles though. Tough to fix without either a vacuum pump or some kind of vibration system - the only way would be to stick an additive that slowed the cure down.
Anyhow... I'm not bashing - it's a great job overall: the whole package is wonderfully put together.

Hi SI, just wondering how far you are into the Week 3 orders pls? I just wanted to see if there's a chance at getting my disc done in time for Tron Day at Disneyland on April 10th. How long would you estimate doing the full mod from top to bottom would take, anticipating no major screwups/problems?
Jedibaritone, your kit will ship in the next couple days. In fact, all week 3 orders will be shipped out in the next couple days!
Depending on whether or not you are installing the second 'C' ring, bezel mounts, magnets etc. I estimate the full conversion should take anywhere from 2-5hrs to finish for most.

Did the remaining Week 3 orders go out yet, or is that still a few days away? No rush, just wanna know when to look for the package.
