World War Z (Pre-release)

Man Rick and the group wouldn't survive with these Zombies because they always get ambushed by the slow ones so what do you think what would happen with these? :lol.

I'll be waiting til this turns up on netflix and I LOVE zombie films. What's with the zombie lemmings as they take off from the roof? World War Z in name only, nothing at all like the book. Where is the point when a film advertised as a well known book and made like this becomes false advertising??

Edited to add WHAT was up with scene with the cop getting smashed by the truck? Brad gets out of his vehicle and they show the road, there's a 3 or four foot gap between the cars. When he gets back in the truck someone is able to drive a truck through that gap at full speed without hitting any other cars. I mean I know it's a jump scene but come on at least have him attacked by a person or at least something that would FIT through the gap.

Somewhere along the way Brad gave up control or stopped looking at the big picture. It looks to me like he agreed every time someone came up to him and said, "hey, wouldn't be cool if...". After this the only thing he will produce are direct to video or made for SyFy movies. Maybe work with Monster Man.

I dont know, im gonna switch of the serious part of my brain, and watch it, its a Zombie flick IMO, hardly an accurate Biopic, have some fun guys, lighten up, have a beer, relax the colon.....and let the good times roll.

Seen the trailer a couple of days ago and agree its not looking great. I might be Wrong but isn't the budget something like 130 million dollars?

Enjoyed the book, but this looks like an appalling, pathetic, waste of time, resources, and money. I will not be seeing this in its current format, and I love all things Zombie.

All this talk has made me want to buy the book and I thought I was sick and tired of zombies. :lol I guess the Walking Dead has helped me ease back into it.

For those of you complaining about Brooks "letting" his book be changed or raped or whatever: That's how Hollywood works. Unless you have the juice to be part of the process, you sell the rights to your book and you're out of it. Unless you're also a producer, you don't hang around the set trying to make sure they're translating your vision to the screen. If you're not OK with them buying your book and then changing everything but the title, then don't sell it.

Q: How many studio executives does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Does it have to be a light bulb?

I'm thoroughly enjoying the book right now.

Yes, the book is so good.

Just because an author sells the books rights for film doesnt mean they have to frak it up. Evidently Mr brooks didnt feel it necessary to follow his book exactly. But then it just becomes another zombie flick.

I'm sure they will set this up to have a sequel, Maybe the sequel can follow the book a liitle more closely. It'd be cool if they did a fast - slow zombie crossover, meaning the zombies start off fast and end up slow over time.

The whole reason the book was gripping and frightening was the pacing. It was slow and creeping. It was a look at how seemingly easily a disease could spread and destroy life as we know it. Some of the most heart pounding moments in the book were when a single zombie was threatening someones life, or when a group of slow moving zed-heads were gaining on someone.

Needless to say I'm pretty disappointed in the trailer. Looks like I Am Legend had a love child with War of the Worlds. Same old, same old.

First 8 minutes of World War Z got screened at BNAT.

Couple of reactions.

Devin Faraci ‏from Badass Digest.
"First 8 minutes of WORLD WAR Z: fine. Generic. Could be opening of a video game. Ripping off 28 DAYS LATER. "

Peter Sciretta ‏from Slashfilm.
"Opening sequence from World War Z was cool. Super fast zombies look better from grounded POV but still hate what I saw in trailer #BNAT"

Either Brad wanted it this way or he just got his name on it by throwing some money at someone and said, "go make this thing." I was sick the last two weeks and working from home. Some show was talking about his film that just came out and they started discussing all this humanitarian stuff he and his wife do. Between that and acting when was he keeping an eye on what was goung on with this?

lol, odd comment considering that behaviour is exactly in the book.

It's been a long time since I read the book but I don't remember them saying that zombies would just nose dive off the top of buildings for no reason?

they do, that was a technique the army used to draw them out, they'd go up on an adjacent building and make noise to lure the zombies out and they'd just come straight out blindly.

the book also mentions walls of bodies from the mass killings, and zombies struggling to climb over, which is what i think some of the stuff in the trailer was aiming for.
