Tron Legacy RINZLER helmet!!!

I haven't been here since I posted on pg 1!

Wow nice work!!!

I need to get back into my build sooner or later.

I got sidetracked by a loss in my family and then general laziness :\

Amazing what some of those photo-brightening manips did to reveal detail.

Wowowowow.

I might discard my fiberglass cast and restart the helmet process.

edit-

dropped all my work from back in Oct/Nov/Dec into a compressed file and added it to this thread.
Hopefully some useful stuff for someone else.

It took me much longer than expected, but I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED!
This project was very challenging, some for lack of time on their hands, but mainly because the shape, geometry and linne of this helmet, it's almost absurd, in fact I could not reproduce exactly the same, but I hope to have made however, a good job and whether you like it.
Now enjoy it, and in a couple of days will churn out copies of the resin.

A VERY complex piece. At first glance it seems SOO simple of a design but there are some ODD things going on in there. Not to mention it being MIRROR black!

I must tell you this is by far THE BEST attempt at it. It really looks darn near 100% to me!

Without casting the original I'd say this is the best anyone could do!

Congrats on getting it done! :)

Awesome, can this cast be modified to be 100% movie accurate with leds, mirror black paint job, breathing ports (holes), transparency across the front of head to see through when worn, and a hollowed out interior to fit one's head into?

slits to breathe, have already made, even if you do not need to pass the air, just for aesthetics, the visor is in the works, I hope to finish it by next week. For LEDs uin it will take some more time, I must find a way to mount them.

With a little more work I dont see why not.

Art funk if you are planning on selling casts please PM me a price once you figure it out or put up a link to an interest/for Sale thread in the junkyard.

This is very cool and very exciting.

Ok, thanks for the photo update, so the helmet is hollowed out already to fit a person's head ?

This is looking very fantastic ! ! !

I was looking it over and you might be able to work in a little LED board like this. and then just cover the opening with a bit of frosted Acrylic. then again you could use EL Sheet cut to the right shape and size the wire it through little holes in the helmet and lay the Sheet on top as sort of a decal to cover the holes and provide the effect.

Then again I am a novice at all this so you probably have plenty of better Ideas. I just wantend to through my 2 cents in.
