Tron Legacy RINZLER helmet!!!

I admire your skills ArtFunk. Top Job!
I just have watched TRON Legacy 3D last weekend - well designed and nice 3D effects, too.

I made the latest in changes, unfortunately, am accurate:)
I have corrected the curve that rises high behind the rear, I lifted the top line Tail, those highlighted in red, now I understand if I bring back more than the orange line, and if even higher than the hump, highlighted in blue.

Hey man,

I was looking through your thread and thought about a way you could pull this off pretty slick.

Make yourself a mold with an inside plug to take up some head space, then cast it in a clear resin (smooth-on makes a nice optical clear). Unfortunately I can't find a clear that sets up fast enough to slush cast...

Then once you pull the piece, use a bit of this on it:
Amazon.com: VHT Nite Shades - Black Out Taillight Spray & Clear Coat Bundle: Automotive

and mount your leds on the backside.. Mask off an area inside to see through and then paint the INTERIOR with opaque black.

After a few coats of the VHT, put on a nice several coats of clear and then polish to a shine!

Just an idea! It's looking great. Very inspirational.

Good luck.

If you do a master of this you should should sell some copies, I'd likely buy one (as long as it is reasonably priced, I find a lot of prop sellers are a bit ridonkulous with asking prices whereas others share the love of this community and do it reasonably), anyway I find you work on this helmet absolutely inspiring!

Of course, the copies will be available for sale, I should be able to make the first copies by the end of the month.
I do it with passion, but I can not overlook all the work behind it, also because this helmet with a visor and requires time and cost vary according to this.
However I have not an idea of price before I finish it then I will tell you.

Really awesome so far!

I have yet to see any other Rinzler helmet that is as detailed and screen accurate, even at this stage of development... :D

i'm lil bit curious..are you will be use some dark tinted visor to make it visible when weared?if you do,it must be quite dark to be similar with the original helmet :lol cmiiw

and what about the lighting?are you planning to use some orange LEDs or something like that?

the visor is dark but with almost 100% visibility, and the helmet is of course black. The blue LED will be orange, like in the movie, with the ability to turn a color or the other.
