Looks like a very sweet replica. Any rattles or cheapy feel to yours Carl? I've held several reproductions over the years, some costing only a couple hundred and others upwards of $1,200-1,400. All had ares that made them feel cheap. Most had rattles or had poorly fitting pieces.

Would love to get my mitts on one of these! :love

The PRO runs about $1000, but is only available in Japan at present. Keep watching the Tomenosuke Blog for announcements.

Mine is actually a one-off build up of the original Tomenosuke Kit that was released in 2008. It was built by Nobutaka Toku, the artist and gunsmith who designed the original kit and also this version of the Blaster. It seems many of the things he researched and corrected on my Blaster have also found their way into the PRO.

My blaster, which I call the "Tomeosuke Special", is weighted and has a nice feel, with no real "rattly" but it does have a little bit of looseness owing to the fact that it is not a real gun and therefore not as solidly constructed.

Grip color is distractingly off. Is it worth getting it shipped from Japan? Better to buy local, IMO. I'll wait for Coyle's.

I've seen a couple of Coyle's recently on eBay. While good, they're nowhere near as accurate as this one. But admittedly, they are STUNT version replicas, labeled clearly as such. If he's making a full-fledged hero prop version, I can't wait to see what he does with it! :):thumbsup

Hopefully his will be at a price I can afford. For $1,000, this thing ought to be a REAL, WORKING GUN, just like the original prop! I ought to be able to go out with it and bust a cap in a replicant! :p

Sorry but it will not fire UNLESS you switch out the Bulldog model for a real one and have a custom made 4.5 barrel made.

It adds about $500.00 to the price..and can only be done in states where you able to own a pistol and it has to go though you local gun shop for the transfir.

In those auctions I linked to one of my current all metal models.. check it out...

Mr. Coyle, first off, thanks for your reply. :)

Secondly, that post was an example of my bitter & cynical wit. I was just joking around... although I was partly serious, too. $1,000 DOES seem high to me for a prop that isn't made from the real guns the movie's prop makers used. Nearly 30 years after that prop was made, I'd imagine those guns are getting harder to find.

I did see it after I posted, and it's beautiful! :love

I'll also say this... if I ever did have the ability to spend that much for a replica of this prop, I'd buy yours over the Japanese one any day, because I'm very familiar with your reputation in regards to the quality of your prop replicas. Everyone that owns one says they're second to none, and it shows in all the high quality photos I've seen of your work. :) :thumbsup
The only word I've heard so far from Tomenosuke is that the "PRO" is now slated to be only a modelgun version, not also a blank-firing gun version as originally planned. I have no other details at this time.

Karl
I copied & pasted this from your OTHER THREAD because I hadn't seen it mentioned here in this thread.

I had forgotten that the Tomenosuke Pro was originally planned as a blank-firing replica. THAT would have been well worth $1,000! Too bad they scrapped that idea. :thumbsdown

New Deckard Blaster from Japan

Google Translate

They can't accept orders from overseas, which my bank account no doubt thanks them for. 84,000 yen. What's that, like $84? Right?

Awesome looking replica, though

sigh.....

Re: New Deckard Blaster from Japan

Looks great, but for that price I'd imagine it would.

84,000Y is about $1000 by the way, so your bank account should be very thankful :lol

Re: New Deckard Blaster from Japan

The Tomenosuke PRO is slated to be sold in other countries outside Japan later in 2011. Keep watching the blog.
