The Ultimate Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi Real Vintage Parts Lightsaber Group

The knowledge on this thread is astonishing. You guys have dissected the parts to almost absolute certainty. You all deserve much respect for your diligence. My hats off to you all. And all of your sabers and parts are beautiful! There is so much eye candy on this thread! I dropped a pic on one of the obi threads in 2013 of my full on obi saber. Its gone through some changes since then and Im sorry to those who i didn't get back to during that time. I've been working hard for quite a few years now. And haven't been around. Anyways im back now and planning on being more involved on here. I am waiting till another part arrives next week to drop some pics of my obi on this thread but i know i have to show something to join this club so heres a teaser pic of one of my hales till next week.

Nice hales. If that's the original launch pole it's in fantastic conditition. Not seen those internals before either. Where does the bottom rt part fit? (the one just above the pin.)

That piece screws into the nut/flange that goes on the end of the grenade opposite the wind vain.
Here's mine, before I refinished it & turned it into a lightsaber.

I belive it is. I have no reason to think otherwise. I got it with a museum quality hales. In fact all the internals in that pic came with the hales i just mentioned. Its on my obi now. So i took all those parts and put it on the hales in the pic. I have 3 hales so i part swapped. If its ok on this thread and your interested ill take more pics of the 3 hales side by side. And ill orient the parts how they go.

Thank you, sir.
The brass was just the finish it was painted(?). It's how I got it.
I've since stripped it.

& this is what it looked like before I blued it.

Thank you!
It sure makes a purdy lightsaber.
Would any of you gentlemen be willing to discuss the restoration chemicals and steps on any of your real parts sabers for stripping, bluing, etc. Before and after pictures would be great, as well. Thank you!

Dustin goes through some Hales cleaning here if that's of use.
I had lost track of Dustin's thread. He does amazing work. Thank you for sharing the link!

I second that. Thanks for taking the time.

I take it the part with the pin attached by string is a 'safety' to stop the weathervane from unscrewing while being handled.
