Holy Cow! Honestly! Who does that!!!! I mean Honestly!

I believe it is time that You take off the mask and step out from behind the curtain Finhead! Ladies and Gentlemen may I present to you Mr. Nikola Tesla?

The rumors of his passing were greatly exaggerated.

I am very impressed by your work Finhead.
You See What I Did There, Finhead?

Right right, just sayin that the CGI shots in the movie have the mouth/cheek details and not just the end credits model. :) Some of the early promo stuff does not and differs a bit from the hero prop as its red on the cheeks than black.

Not to belabor the issue and hijack, but the teeth can also be seen in the Expo Stage scene at the end:

Back to point, absolutely GORGEOUS project. That arm has me drooling. I wish I had a "3D Guy"...

Re: The definitive Iron Man Mark III helmet

We are still not talking about the Mark4 or 6, this thread (as the title states) is all about the Mark3 so the end expo scene makes no sense. ;)

Right. Just trying to add to Bimmer's earlier comment addressing when the teeth appeared, that being on the 4/6, not the 3. My bad...

Im speechless!!!! Awesome in so many ways. Great work!

Re: The definitive Iron Man Mark III helmet *NOW WITH DEFINITIVE ARM* ;)

I think the cheek area details add depth to the helmet

And as far as I can tell, the mark iii had them, this promo shot shows the dark areas

Re: The definitive Iron Man Mark III helmet *NOW WITH DEFINITIVE ARM* ;)

No physical hero helmets had the details. This we know for certain. We feel we have created a perfect replica of that hero helmet and stand by our choice to not add in cheek or other cgi detail to it. ;)

Re: The definitive Iron Man Mark III helmet *NOW WITH DEFINITIVE ARM* ;)

Nevermind

Wow, hadn't read this thread in a while, but was it really that hard to understand that they were making the mark 3(non-toothed) helmet? Lol. Looking great as usual guys!

Re: The definitive Iron Man Mark III helmet *NOW WITH DEFINITIVE ARM* ;)

It appears in the original print that the bottom of the chin is open; is that the case?Do you have a shot of the bottom that you could post? If so, do you guys plan on sealing that up a bit more?

Re: The definitive Iron Man Mark III helmet *NOW WITH DEFINITIVE ARM* ;)

The helmet is complete and no changes will be made or are even necessary. The chin needs that opening in order to fit a head inside. It is exactly like the hero helmet. ;)

Re: The definitive Iron Man Mark III helmet *NOW WITH DEFINITIVE ARM* ;)

Damn! How much does something like this will cost to print a whole suit? I just want one for display, wouldn't be able to fit in it with my big gut and short stance anyway.

Here's a quick way to estimate costs.
Surface area of avg male is 1.9 m^2 (convert to cm^2) [thanks, wikipedia]
Assume a multiplier to account for support struts, overlap, and any surface detail. I used 2 to 3
Thickness of parts is 0.7 - 1 mm
Cost to print is $1.40/cm^3
That gives you a range of $3.7K-$8K with an avg of $5.9K to print an entire suit.
That seems like a reasonable estimate if you want to attempt the unreasonable. :wacko
This assumes no cost for your time to prep files for printing.
