And here are some photos i could take from the photos of the con on november when i presented it. At that time there weren't many pictures. For exaple I did't know it was a hourglass u_u but now i'm doing it for a con in july. And the pink thing i also didn't know it was a baby bottle. I knew the other thing was a bunny but I dind't get to finish it for the con so I decided o use a white pearl xD as for the hourglass i used a blue one lol. I have to take proper photos to everything, but my costume is at my bf house x_x

SORRY for the low quality pictures.

Omg this is perfect thanks! I finished the skull and the bottle today, I had the hour glass done but I broke it... But the bunny and the bear and the bunny are gonna be hard, do you know if it's possible to buy them somewhere?

Welcome Spindrift! As another working (or rather, planning on working, at the moment) on a Sweet Pea costume, I'd love to hear any info you'd care to share on the gloves you found. ;) And your pauldron looks awesome!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

For all the questions: Gloves I HAPPENED to stumble over them at an Edwardian Ball. (edit I should have said on my way to) I had also found some good ones online by looking for weight lifting gloves. Then I went online and found some fishnet gloves to go under.

The quesiton about the boots, I got them from Endless.com. Endless is brilliant for costume shoes because when you need something you can search VERY specifically for what you want. Zappos is helpful that way too. I will say that none of them were quite high enough, so you will probably have to modify them.

I have been coordinating with a friend to get a corset made. She made this one (see picture) for me a while back so I know it's going to come out great.

One thing I am debating back and forth is if I should just dye my hair, or get a wig. I can't find a wig I like...but I am so nervous about dying my hair. Thoughts?

Also for the others looking at Sweetpea, she is SO loaded with weapons, I am a little worried about the rules at conns...what are you guys doing for the weapons? :confused

Thanks, but I have to disagree. While it's based on the Colt m1911a1, Colt hasn't sold a bright nickel edition in many years, and even then the shape of the pistol didn't match. It's much closer to the Smith and Wesson, but still there are many differences.

Well I don't see the differences your talkin about, obviously this is a custom colt 45 1911 of somesort, I can guarantee ya that, I'm pretty good with my gun knowledge.

And it even though colt hasn't produced one in years this could be an older model

Spindrift - Yeah I know the boots are going to be hard for me (I wear a men's 10.5-11, and my thighs are probably bigger than your waist size) but any help is good help.

For the wig... I have almost-shoulder length brown hair... I'm thinking I get a haircut right before con, and get a wig. I talked to my hairdresser about it and she said that would be the best thing to do. I hate the way wigs look too, but hopefully I can get some help from friends that know more about that stuff than me. Plus, I'd only go blonde if it was because I was going to dye it a fun color later (which I can't because of work)

For the weapons - I have a line on Sweet Pea's rifle and shotgun in airsoft form. The only complications would be the add-ons (red-dot sights, supressors, lights, etc). These should not be a big deal in a con (unless they're uber strict, which SDCC is not). The sword on the other hand.... if its a real sword you have to have it "peace tied" which means its affixed in a scabbard so you can't take it out. Because of this, I think I'm just going to cheat, and just have a handle sticking out (and probably make it myself)

I don't know a thing about guns. Really. But I agree. I did a little research on guns and decided to use a S&W M645 replica. It's not shiny and not THE SAME, but I couldn't fin anything better.

This is the one I bought before the customization. The black part was changed and painted to look as if it was wood. The only thing I should do for the next time is making it SILVER. cuz its GRAY.

What do you suggest me to do? paint it with some silver aerosol to give it the chromeplated look? Or? ...

You might want to try painting it flat black then go over it with a coat of silver Buff n Rub, but YMMV. I'd try a test on something else first to see if you like the effect.

Ok so I made a new hourglass charm so now all I have to do is make a teddybear and a bunny one. And I made a snorlax one just for the lols haha I'll put up pictures of them when I'm done

Thank you very much for the help ! I'll take a look on that and see what I can do. I really don't want to mess this one up lol . I just want to make it more accurate, i'm a obsessed with perfection. When i presented it I thought it was perfect and with a lot of detail (knowing that, at that time september-november there were so many good references, i did my best) now i want it with more and more details. I'm getting crazy, it seems suck a simple costume, and it's not. :D

What I would do, is sand the finish off of the one you have. Take it apart, and get all the nooks and cranies. Then, paint it all black (this will be your primer coat(s). Once you do that, sand it back down, and get it as smooth as possible. Like, go down to 1000 grit sandpaper-smooth. Then get the best chrome paint you can get. Welcome To Alclad II Home is the best, but if you get a really good primer and sanding, the Rustoleum chrome in a rattle can will work. Both are pretty tempermental.

Then, for the designs on the gun, I would make waterslide decals of the designs. Or you could do vinyl cuts (just be careful)

Thanks!! the problem is that as i live in argentina the procucts here are not the same x__x. But I found some Rust oleum aerosol for cars, i'll have to take a look on that. Also I found some places that do chrome painting jobs. I'll see the prices, compare and decide, cuz the rusotoleums i foudn are pretty expensive.
Bout the engraved stuff, first i thought about painting it very carefully, then enraving it myself with some hot pin. I dunno. The decals are a pretty good idea.
