Star Wars Resistance new animated series...

Oddly enough, Resistance was the only series that I felt compelled to want to watch week after week. Rebels started strong but for some reason just lost my interest. Once Clone Wars became nothing but political Mandalorian stuff it completely lost me. I havent watched the new season of Clone Wars yet so I dont know if it redeemed itself for me?

The answer about if the show gets better... only slightly. The second season is slightly better.

I just finished the first season. Thankfully, it ended a lot stronger than it started. I know that's a low hurdle to clear, but still.

Yes, once the a First Order became the major adversary in the show, it got a little more interesting.

Well, I finished it. It ended a whole lot better than it started. You are right - bringing in the First Order and having Tam join them made things far more interesting. It’s still my least-favorite of the SW television properties, but to be fair, it obviously wasn’t made for someone like me.

I gotta say, Kylo Forcing Tierny and Pyre to draw their guns on each other was pretty cool. Probably my favorite moment from the whole series.

Thanks for the rapid response. I hope I get to see it. I try and make almost all of my own props as I enjoy the process (despite all the frustrations) so if you do ever considering selling the helmet file (for totally non-commercial use only) I would be very interested.

I am T3Productions! Good timing as I am finalizing a printed helemt for a client for Torra. This issue was how to make one that will fit a human head, while maintaining the look of the animated one. i had it cut specifically to allow the human head to fit.

Will know in the next day if it will work. I will keep you posted.

I have a printed helmet, are you looking to wear of display one? The reason I ask is this one is the 3rd attempt to cut it to fit a human head. It looks great but wont fit.

I was watching Bad Batch S2 Ep4: Faster a few weeks ago. "Faster" Episode Guide | The Bad Batch

In the episode, the team get involved in a Riot Race (heavily influenced by pod racing but more like a land/air speeder type race vehicle.

While I was watching these race scenes, I started reflecting back on Star Wars: Resistance. When Resistance was first announced and they started talking about the racing element, I had envisioned something more in line with what we saw in Faster. I had also hoped that it would have them traveling to other planets and partaking in different types of racing. Instead Resistance had pretty much the same handful of pilots racing in the same place. Not sure why anyone i the SWU would find that exciting.

As I continued to think about it further, I realized that as much as i like my idea better, it really would not have worked well since...

Spoiler: The real focus of the show

the end game of the series is really about the base being a ship that would be of importance to supporting the resistance's efforts.

So basically what I ended up with in my conclusions, it is my humble opinion that the racing element really could have been cut from the series. Since all these racers doubled as a base defense force anyhow, that is how they should have just played it. You could have had them as contracted individuals who supplied their own ships this way you could still have the different looking ships and different looking clothing. I think you would have been able to tell the same story without having the racing aspect forcibly and awkwardly wedged into the series. It is just my opinion.

Or, if not cut, at least better lampshaded that the racing was just how they spent their downtime to stay in practice. The emphasis landed wrong, because it was wrong. They are the station's defenses. De-fanging the stakes by not saying that at the outset set a really weird tone for what we got, until it became clearer. Some things benefit from some mystery -- including in that show. Other things are hurt by false mystery.
