New big-screen Star Wars Rey movie announced at SW Celebration 2023

I liked Rey after TFA...but i hate what was done with her in TLJ and TRoS. It tarnished any chance the character really had frankly.

I am a fan of the ST and I agree TFA is the best of the 3 films. While I do enjoy TLJ and TROS and I also see the missed opportunities and confusing storylines of those films I think Rey’s character and specifically Daisy Ridley’s performance was the highlight of those movies.

I routinely re-watch SW movies and when I’m deciding what to watch my personal viewing preferences are OT first, ST second, PT third.

Wonder how long until this one gets so political/controversial that it gets locked like the last three.

I give this thread at least 1.4 weeks of life before it’s locked.

The dialogue tends to escalate over that amount of time until a “lock” is achieved.

There are members who must have “lock emblems” on their Ipad cases, like enemy fighter kills on the side of a WWII fighter, for the number of threads they successfully killed with a “lock”.

I never understood why there are just jedi. Its a club. You can join up and learn from them and leave. At which point you can still go out and use your powers and do good deeds. Or maybe you have the ability and are self taught. How someone never staterd another group makes no sense to me. All the jedi who quit just went out on there own...hard to believe 2 or 3 didnt quit together and form another club...especially with it going back 25k years

Fine; as usual I'll keep my opinions to myself and sing the song of the masses:

KK can do no wrong; all us fans are insufferable asses; we need to worship St. Rey of the Mary Sue Jedi Corps. without relenting, and sell all our vital organs to ensure Disney may make yet more series.

And you wonder why I'm spending my evening now deleting all of my 2000+ posts here?! If I wanted to post under a repressive regime of terror, I'd join an Imperial Disney FORUM.

No one has to leave or not post their opinion on the actual subject of the thread. I’m just tired of threads getting locked due to a few people that can’t stay on topic and within the rules of the forum.

I mean isnt this the Sith? They left the Jedi, started their own thing, and then started fighting the jedi for supremacy.

Rogue One also introduced the monks who werent necessarily force-sensitive but believed in the force such as Donny Yen's character and there are also the night sisters. Even in the jedi order, there seems to be at least two different interpretations of the force with Qui Gon believing in the concept of the "living force" which seems to be a minority view as Qui Gon is kind of a rogue among the jedi.

This would be interesting in a tv show that would explore the different concepts similar in a sense to Star Trek but honestly seems like a blank check for Disney to rewrite more of what the force is though.

I hope it doesn’t get locked. I’m interested in seeing updates and curious if this will get made. I also like hearing the (admittedly unconfirmed) rumors and theories about what’s happening behind the scenes.

As for ST…it’s hard for me to see the point of rehashing. There are people who like it. There are some of us who didn’t.

But both sides have given their reasons so many times it’s impossible to imagine that there could be more that hasn’t already been said. I get why ST fans like it. I’ve read their reasons about 26265 times. They know why I don’t, presumably, after reading the reasons another few thousand times.

I doubt there’s a single cell of film left in that trilogy that hasn’t been debated yet.

Just give me a series with Fin and Poe who’ve been sent by the Republic to meet with an unaligned planet on the outer rim.

The planet in question is rich with resources that The Republic needs to rebuild the fleet.

The remnants of The First Order also want the resources to rebuild, and so it’s a race against the clock to get to them and sway them to join.

Both sides fighting for the planet’s allegiance.

Knowing Disney, the Rey movie will probably wind up with her trying to find Grogu (Now grown) so that the two of them can rebuild the Jedi Academy.

She finds him but The New Knights of Ren are rebuilding Palpatine’s secret fleet to launch an all out war against both The Republic and the scraps of The First Order.

They have to now quickly assemble a rag tag fleet of Jedi to go up against them and defeat them before the Galaxy is tossed into chaos.

Three movies will cover this arc. And fortunately for the Jedi team, Grogu discovers that Mace Windu is still alive, and bitter. But they talk him into joining their merry band. This is how the first movie will end.
