Easy, by not being a sheep?
Or It might mean they are holding back judgement till something is actually released.

but they're good games none the less
Oh yes, because angry joe who doesn't know what's he's talking about half the time says it's bad, then it is universally acclaimed as the worst game ever :rolleyes
It's far from a master piece, but it's an enjoyable FPS multiplayer that got 6-7/10 on most websites. That's not a bad game. Come to think about it I don't even know why I bothered replying to you, since your mind is obviously made up about both BF and this new Battlefront, but now that I've typed this I'll just click reply anyway.
Considering their behind battlefield id say their track record shows they can deliver fun games. And im always up for a battlefield style star wars game.
Yes, skipped Hardline, skipped almost all of Assassin's creed, didn't purchase alot of games on opening day, and I consider myself a gamer. I don't fall for the hype, but I'll buy a Tenchu assassin's game because of the nostalgia value. I might purchase this for pure nostalgia as well, once it gets marked down. There is a reason why these games stay marked up even after a year or more pf release. I'll definitely wait for a review but critics don't know it all, some Tenchu games have terrible reviews and i enjoy them (at cost of course).
So a score of seven might make it an 8-9 for me plus the fun factor
Just because I don't cheer at everything released and praise it like it's the best thing since the invention of the wheel does not mean I have made up my mind. Like Jurassic World, they did a lot of stupid stuff with that. Even after seeing all the trailers and such I still hadn't seen anything to make me excited. I saw the film and I liked it.
Oddly, I'd say it's their track record with Battlefield that most gives me pause with respect to this game.
I mean, if you dig their games, awesome. Go spend your money. But there's ample proof in DICE's track record that the overall game experience with their games is anything but perfection.
I'm getting this regardless cause it's SW And looks good.
I can't say I have great judgement, though. The last time I prepaid a game was Duke Nukem Forever.

but it was REALLY rare, and usually based on the company's reputation (e.g. Bioware pre-Mass Effect 3).

I'm not in the habit of paying full price, either. I do what you do.I can sympathize. I went through a period where I bought games based on trailers and without playing them, or based on initial hype. I just got burned too many times and ended up feeling frustrated at my purchase down the road, feeling like I didn't really get my money's worth.
What changed things for me was when I first got an X360 in 2006. My PC was woefully underpowered, so I wasn't buying new PC games, and I found myself so behind the times in terms of all these games on the 360 that I hadn't played. That started me buying used games, and games that had been out for anywhere from one year to five years already. When I got a new PC that was more up to speed, I had the same situation: tons of games to play, and all at dirt cheap prices because they were so old.
So, I got used to paying not more than $30 for a game. Once in a blue moon I'd pay $60 for something, but it was REALLY rare, and usually based on the company's reputation (e.g. Bioware pre-Mass Effect 3). So, now I pretty much only buy older games, games on sale, games at $30 and below. I wait for Steam sales and I buy my console games used (although I haven't bought a console game in god knows how long). I have a huge backlog of games in my Steam library that I at least have to TRY before I go spending full price on a new game, and most of the time, new games on release have bugs, need patches, etc., etc., etc. So now I'm in the habit of waiting at least 6 months to a year before I buy a game.
If you really wanna buy the game, hey, it's your nickel, man. All I'm saying is there's another way to do it, and it's a lot less expensive. Plus, when I end up buying a stinker (e.g Need For Speed: Most Wanted from 2010), I really don't care that much...because I only spent about $5 on it.
So did SW Force Commander. I played it for about 20 mins, then threw the disc away. :lol![]()
Oh, God! With the techno remixes of the original themes?! Blech! I think I tried the tutorial once or twice and then said "This SUCKS" and got rid of it.
To date, nobody has made a good ground game RTS in the Star Wars universe (although, personally, I'd prefer a turn based ground game).

I would love to see a modern version of Rebellion made...
