Let's Talk All Things Star Wars (Again)

THRAWN movie:

The Celebration 2025 announcement of Admiral Ackbar coming back for Ahsoka Season 2 is a setup for a planned Thrawn movie, where the two admirals will face off in a battle of wits.

I didn't watch Ahsoka, but a couple friends said they turned Thrawn into an idiot. Admiral Ackbar was not a match for Thrawn in any of the engagements in the Zahn books.

Ugh.

Why am I not surprised? What else would modern LFL do with a formidable male character?

The whole backbone of Admiral Thrawn was brains-over-emotions. In the books I remember him being sort of an evil version of Mr. Spock. Timothy Zahn tried to make him smarter than the readers, never mind the rebel characters.

Okay, I have a new insider update:

STARFIGHTER movie:

The Ryan Gosling Starfighter movie is not yet greenlit. The hold-up is funds. Lucasfilm is not flush with cash at the moment, and has sunk most everything into The Mandalorian and Grogu. Hence the Celebration 2025 news about smaller cheaper productions that are animated. But Favreau is still trying to make it happen, because he's got respect for the potential of the film.

This explains why some other actors who were approached (like Mikey Madison) passed on it. It doesn't have a budget or filming schedule...yet. Tells me that Gosling really wants this.

Yes, this movie is resurrected from the Rogue Squadron idea that was originally being planned with Patty Jenkins before she ran afoul of Kennedy. I understand that Favreau loved the idea and thinks Levy could pull it off. Jenkins is busy.

DARTH MAUL show:

This is apparently Favreau's idea, and comes from his desire to explore more of the "underworld" aspects of Star Wars. I say anything that gives us more Sam Witwer is a good thing.

CAL KESTIS:

There was previously some internal traction to get this game character into the live action universe, but due to production issues with the third "Jedi" game, this is likely to be delayed. Apparently Favreau had hoped to introduce Cal Kestis in Ahsoka Season 2, but the need to tie him in with the next game release has upset those plans.
You do a incredible job with data organizing, you’re my go to source when it comes to this stuff

Han in carbonite..... scaled..... molded.... chocolate...... the universe is years ahead of me..... but why none wrapped in foil after?

Have we ever seen an X-wing with wing markings higher than Red Five? Seems like I remember in the battle of Yavin a Red Eleven checked in. That's a lotta stripes!

They painted a Red 6 Red 6 X-Wing Studio Model - Modelers Miniatures & Magic

That's the highest I've seen.

Other sources, like video games, typically use one of the lower numbered ones. Using Red 2, Red 3, or Red 5 as a reference. Often mixing designs together.

Sort of random question. I'm just going to post here. Graflex clamps, are they chrome plated or nickel plated? I seem to recall reading the tubes were nickel plated, but don't remember about the clamps.

About 10 mins ago, now waiting for it to start.

Took my parents, as I now have the last two years, and being my Mom's birthday this Tuesday. Return of the Jedi, Phantom Menace, and now this one.
1000030740.jpg

Afterwards told my parents to stop by the house real quick. Got her these flowers, which she loved....although, shes like, "You took me to such a sad movie."
1000030742.jpg

And I couldn't help but notice her chrome shoes. I want these as work boots.
Also is like a lot of the chrome ships of the prequels, knowing George always wanted that, just couldn't do it back in the day.

If she clicks her heels, she will likely teleport back home.

That’s fantastic! It’s so cool going back to it 20 years later, and even better there with family.

My son treated me to a showing here while he was home for the funeral. He had never seen it in theater since he was 2 when it came out and I was in Korea where I watched it twice in the base theater. TBH, it’s been years since I’ve watched it.

I forgot how great this looked on the big screen, and he really loved the experience as well. And it was a great escape for the both of us.

I came across a picture of Anakin the other day with his quote of "Someday I will be the most powerful Jedi ever!" It got me thinking that he is the Chosen One, but could he ever be more powerful than Yoda (if he hadn't turned obviously)? I think the only way to overcome the experience of someone like Yoda is the fact that he learns extremely fast. Maybe part of his being the Chosen One lets him learn fast and master the power faster? That would be the only thing that would make him useful if it worked that way IMO.

I think his statement was a bit premature but hinted at his hoping not to die. Either way, I think he was looking more toward extending his life which would allow for him to have the time frame that yoda already had. However, he was also a complete braggart as well as being the chosen one. He did in fact bring balance to the force, killing all but two or three of the existing Jedi in the universe against his existence and that of Palpatine's. Not sure I would count Maul in this as he went rogue and couldn't really be considered Sith but maybe. So ya, if chosen one means balancing the scale sure. Most powerful Jedi Ever.... he was for about 5 seconds as he tossed Palps into the tube. Otherwise he was just sith. Yoda was still alive after Ani turned sith so no on that time frame but if you count his redemption moment, only he and luke would be living Jedi and Luke just went down hard core from lightning and Darth did not..... so for approximately 5 seconds he is finally right. oh sorry retpuke on that, leia too but Darth wins on power.

While there can be several definitions of the most powerful, I do think it was possible for Anakin to achieve it (and become more powerful than Yoda or Sidious in certain aspects).

Anakin has several features/abilites that make him quite broken as a jedi.
- incredibly fast learner: started training "late" as a jedi but was already one of the strongest jedi in the temple and nominated to a seat on the council as the "youngest master ever." Although he got his seat through political means, Obi Wan states that with Anakin's capability, it would only be a few more months or years before he becomes a proper master.

- insane force potential: we honestly dont really see this depicted well because Star Wars doesnt really delve into the nitty gritty of force potential differences among people or jedi but we can pick hints up from Luke, another being with high force potential thanks to being Anakin's son. Luke learns force techniques very quickly despite limited teaching where his issue seems to be more mental (believing he cant move something because its too big) rather than ability. Despite "size matters not," I do suspect that the time it takes to channel the force depends on force potential and those weak in it take more time and concentration to do the same thing a person strong in the force can do easily. Anakin progresses quickly and I do suspect his frustration with Obi Wan (he is holding me back) comes from the wrong belief that Obi Wan is purposefully not teaching him abilities when the reality is Obi Wan likely doesnt know or cant do them himself so cant teach them. Its possible that if Anakin stayed and focused on training post episode 3, he would have been pulling off force abilities that would be insane even to jedi.

- kind of an all-rounder genius: Anakin is kind of good at everything being "the one." He is a great fighter pilot, strong force user, and one of the best swordsmen among the jedi. Although its cut from the movie, Anakin apparently duels the jedi temple's combat master who is one of the best duelists among the jedi (hence why he is the instructor) and beats him. He is considered a master of his preferred form V, defeated Dooku 1v1, and really pushed Obi Wan. Pretty sure Anakin's only weakness was his impatience which seems to be the root cause of his losses (apart from Dooku who just outskilled him as a duelist).

A more patient Anakin could have soon become one of the top 3 jedi on the council in terms of strength in a couple of years and maybe outpace Yoda in terms of force abilities after that. Yoda or Windu would probably still have been wiser in knowledge of the force but in terms of what can be done, maybe Anakin really could have outpaced them and become the "strongest jedi".
