Star Wars: Battlefront

It might be worth it for the fighter combat alone.

Teeny weeny inconsequential possible nit: are the lower wings of the shuttle at the correct angle?
 
It's still EA and made by the same people who made atrocities like Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline....
 
That's it. I'm getting a PS4. I was on the fence earlier........mostly. Now its official.
 
While it does indeed look incredible I'm staying a little cautious because it's EA/DICE. They've previewed stuff that looks awesome before and it's been a catastrophe on various levels. Still it does look insane.

This. DICE/EA do two things exceptionally well:

(1) They can market the hell out of a game and make it look freaking amazing and something that you absolutely need to buy. It's only after you've been burned a few times by this, where the game turns out to be anywhere from crap to "eh...it's decent" that you learn not to trust the pre-release (or even 1-2 months post-release) hype.

(2) They design perfect Skinner boxes. These guys get operant conditioning. They know how to make you keep playing to get that shiny new unlock or rank or medal or whatever. The gameplay itself may be "meh," but you'll keep playing it like a crackhead because you're hooked on the metagame aspects: namely the unlock/rank system. I guarantee you, if they didn't include those things in the games, people would lose interest in them a lot faster (especially because they basically have killed the mod scene).

Just like all the apple haters that are die hard PC or Samsung enthusiasts...

If this ended up being the best game ever, you will still hate it.
 
Nope. I've played Battlefield 2, BF3, and BF4. They just started removing too many features. A sequel shouldn't have less features than its predecessor.
 
It's not a sequel. This isn't Battlefront 3. Frankly I think they would've done themselves a service not even calling it Battlefront so people don't have preconceived notions of what it should be.
