I think you may be right just measured my number 5 one and it’s as wide as the stunt and not the hero in the pictures shown a few posts ago, not too impressed to be honest and disappointed RS didn’t address it with buyers of early numbersThey adjusted the production of the later ones in the run after the first ones. Newer ones are wider than the first ones sent. Also have a shinier plastic.
I think the plastic used is the same as mine (looks it anyway) but measured it and it’s the same on the ruler as your stuntFor reference the one I own and measured is #38. Also shiny off white plastic, not dull like their stunt.

I wish RS could get more consistently accurate with the angle / position of the tube stripes. Everything else is such a brilliant achievement at matching the hero helmet, but the tube stripes flaring off a too much of an angle bugs my OCD-ness.
My first RS ABS helmet was beautiful - accept for the tube stripes, which were all crammed in to the front half of the tube - not stretched out down the length of the tubes. I ended up selling the helmet because of it.
My HDPE RS helmet, the tube stripes are perfect. ...all depends who in their studio is painting your helment. I believe Beth painted my HDPE, and Rob finished with the chipping. So YMMV.
