Rocketeer “Veepy” Jetpack 3D printable kit project.

*** IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY ***

As I had mentioned in a previous post several weeks ago, I had a few people inquire about using these files for commercial purposes. Because this is absolutely a NOT FOR PROFIT project on my part (which I have stated repeatedly), I will not grant use of these files for commercial purposes. I won't make money from this project, and certainly no one else should. This is for personal projects only and for the community at large.

For this reason, I had to put several measures in place to ensure that the files are of Personal Use only.

One critical measure I had to take, is that 2 of the smaller parts will not be included in the STL files. These will be made available in print form only. Originally I was going to use Shapeways so I wouldn't have to deal with the hassle of printing and shipping. But the cost is excessive there. So, I will be printing these much cheaper at a smaller shop, and providing them AT COST, plus shipping. Here again, I will not make any money from these prints.

The 2 parts consist of the main circular vent, and also the central piece of the radiator. These will be printed in high quality ultra detailed resin and are well worth it, you won't be disappointed. I estimate the price to be only $22 plus the cost of shipping. Within the US this will likely be less than $27 total shipped. That's hopefully low enough that no one will have an issue with this.

For me quite frankly this is a total hassle, as I don't like to have to deal with the printing, shipping, etc. But it's a necessary hassle.

So, for those that intend on building your PERSONAL jeptacks from these files...
Send an email to: veepy@outlook.com
With subject line: Veepy Parts.

I will keep a tally of needed printouts, and handle this professionally.

We are on schedule for the Dec 25th.

I think that's fair. Do you have an estimate on how many rolls of filament we'll need?

Thanks for this dude, awesome work :)

Understandable, but what if we are printing this at scale? 1/4 or 1/6? Sorry to put any more burden on you.

I have printed other rockets in the past so my guess would be about 3-4 rolls. But I use very minimal supports when I print. So if you like to use a lot it could be more.

I think you're being completely reasonable. I just find it upsetting that this is a necessary step.

Agreed, very understandable! I was hoping to print a scaled one too as I have no room for a full sized one! :(

I will look into adding 1/6 and 1/4 scaled versions of those parts directly in Shapeways so you can all build your scaled models. The smaller scaled parts actually make Shapeways very reasonably priced from what I just quickly tested. And I wouldn’t have to be involved at all in that transaction. :)

Was going to ask if any UK members would like to make a list and just get everything shipped to one address, to save on shipping costs.

Shipping costs from the USA are basically crimes against humanity, maybe slightly worse.

Here are a few pics to show what the resin printed part I will be shipping look like. They are high quality and a perfect fit.
(Black prints are regular fdm. White prints are the resin parts).

This looks really great. I have always wanted a pack and I think I just found what to use my printer on for a while.
