Happy 50th to Jaws! I've been helping out flimzy with her Orca projects and wanted to show the new 1/6 scale heads I've been working on for her 1/6th Orca - thread here:
www.therpf.com
Flimzy provided me with some basic files to start from, which included a detailed scan of Quint's hat, which appears here mostly unedited (minor tweaks).
Here's a few previews:

Reference pics:

Quint will have a couple heads - one with the hat on, one with it off. The hatless version can be used with a cloth bandana (I might add a 3D modeled one as well). Hooper will have three heads - hatless, with a beanie, and with the sailor cap. He'll also get two different pairs of glasses - I noticed that Richard Dreyfuss wears a couple different pairs in the film, one with the temples attatched to the lenses at the top, and the other attatched at the sides. I don't have much high-res pics that show the glasses details, but I tried to make them as accurate as I could. The 3D models still need to be simplified for printing at 1/6 scale.
Both Quint and Hooper are shown here with their hats, hair and facial hair as separate models, but the final models for printing will have them merged to their heads, where the hair will be blended into their faces better. Quint still needs more skin texturing. Due to the smalle scale, textures have to be exaggerated in order to show up when printed, but I don't want to go overboard (no Orca pun intended).
Since I already did Chief Brody for NECA scale, it can be scaled up to 1/6th, but I still plan on adding a bit more detail to that model too. I plan on making them all available on CG Trader after I get them to Flimzy and everything is finalized. Flimzy has given me permssion to sell the final files - I wouldn't have tried to sell them without asking since she was te one who asked me to do this and provided some files to start from. I did do extensive re-modeling of the heads she had made - I actually used the same Qunit head as the basis for both Quint and Hooper.
Thanks for looking!

I'm gonna need a bigger boat,ORCA
This is all a little early. But project 6th scale has been bubbling in the background, 3D printed all the components I need but the main part of the construction has to wait until I finish on the project I’ve just started, as it pays my living. Sorry NDA first rule “You can’t talk about project”...
