Wow, not sure how I missed this one, being a finhead myself.
This is great work and very generous to offer it to the community without compensation. Super cool project! I'll definitely download the file and print it....someday.

Are these vintage or repro? And yes, your pack will rock big time with these buckles!!(y)(y):cool:
The upper bucket the real thing. The lower is a full metal reproduction as the real one has still yet to be identified.

As far as I know the part has not been identified. Do you have a picture of it in it's intended use?

It's been traced back to a German company ( "Schmöle & Comp") that was sold sometime later ( in 1967 to "Grohe" ) the buckle is very similar to a parachute buckle ( German Luftwaffe RZ20 parachute harness ) some of the internal parts of the same, the Rocketeer one is a variation or maybe an earlier or later revision that hasn't been seen on anything else that we can find.

I would love to model or 3D print some copies for display but finding any sort of ref is difficult for these.

Thanks! I didn't know this. And sorry I didn't mean to hijack this thread. We should start a new thread just for the buckles lol.

There's been multiple, that's actually where I pulled all that info from lol. Every once in awhile some new bit of info comes up. But hasn't been any in awhile.
