Thanks! I didn't know this. And sorry I didn't mean to hijack this thread. We should start a new thread just for the buckles lol.It's been traced back to a German company ( "Schmöle & Comp") that was sold sometime later ( in 1967 to "Grohe" ) the buckle is very similar to a parachute buckle ( German Luftwaffe RZ20 parachute harness ) some of the internal parts of the same, the Rocketeer one is a variation or maybe an earlier or later revision that hasn't been seen on anything else that we can find.
I would love to model or 3D print some copies for display but finding any sort of ref is difficult for these.
