New model for OWK three holes saber... (New pics on pg 13. 11-17-2024)

When I look at that last photo, to me, it really does not look like this

You could chuck that into a lathe and trim it down pretty easily. Just sayin....
I did that with some panel-mount lamps I found at a surplus shop, but I did it with a drill press and a Dremel:

This was a Korbanth I accurized as a placeholder until Starkiller came out with his.

The brass thing on that cast does look hand trimmed. I can see the threading in the main hole and some file marks on the face

AOTC test 200 grip shroud rotated compared to TPM.jpg

I asked Dewy if he could compare my ROTS salt shaker model (with AOTC emitter cap) and he generously dedicated his time and skill to doing a couple of comparisons. The top photo shows the ROTS model (with the emitter shroud at a slightly different clocking position from where it is now--but this changes in different photos so we know the original props rotate as do the pommel cubes on the ROTS saber). The bottom shows Dewy's/My TPM model. From this comparison, the TPM model looks closer and this probably indicates that the TPM prop was being re-used. But I thought I'd share the comparisons with everyone either way as food for thought.

If we had run this ROTS/SS model first, I would have been convinced it was that prop. It is 95% there.

That being said, it is genuinely uncanny how well our TPM model lines up.

You boys are obviously experts on both designs, but I’m gonna float this out there—what are the primary dimensional differences between the TPM and ROTS props? Is it possible that the ROTS prop IS the TPM prop, but redressed with a few new parts, aside from the salt-shaker emitter cap? Like, the cracked TPM resin pommel being replaced with a new one, etc.?

Or are the subtle dimensional differences between them enough to determine that they are two distinctly separate props?

It is not possible. Every part is different in subtle ways. We have extremely high res photos of the tpm prop--that we cannot share publicly due to ndas--which show every scratch and ding. The SS props that we've seen auctioned off and on display in recent years are all quite different. Similar dimensions. But you can tell that they're not the same items.

Thanks for the pictures!

The update is that I have a run of the sabers in my parents garage. However, one of the parts didn't come out as I originally intended and needs to be remade. So that part is being remade. Once it's done, I'll have to disassemble them all, reassemble them and package everything up. Then they'll go into the store
