New model for OWK three holes saber... (New pics on pg 13. 11-17-2024)

The bright chrome finish behind the paint really makes the red POP.

Looking at the references I have of the AOTC “hero” saber, it seems very likely there was only one chromed resin Kenobi saber made. They all have consistent damage/flaws. Granted there really isn’t a ton of reference for that saber. Also, I haven’t watched AOTC in a while but I can’t ever remember seeing a shiny chrome hilt actually in the movie.
You can see it in the first half of the movie

After reviewing the prototype. I found some details that needed to be corrected on the final product. I spent the past few days machining the changes by hand and then communicating them to the shop. They were very responsive and started making the changes straight off. So it shouldn't be too long now. So thanks everyone for hanging in there with me.

Now, your moment of Zen.

impressive work!

Y'know, since we now have pretty convincing evidence that the TPM metal hero was reused for AOTC, that brings me back to thinking that the salt-shaker was constructed from scratch specifically for ROTS.

Although it's still awesome that Starkiller's version is basically a three-in-one design.

I actually sent my 3d model to Dewy to do overlays of the AOTC pics to see how they size up. The tpm comparisons he did were pretty persuasive that it was probably the tpm hero reused. But some new evidence has come up for me that makes me wonder...

This should prove interesting. If the TPM and AOTC heroes share specific "tells" (asymmetrical emitter shroud cuts, etc.) which the salt-shaker doesn't, that would seem pretty definitive, and would take something big to disprove.

Looking forward to hearing about it, assuming this new evidence/images can be shared publicly.

Newwwww evidence!?
So, one of the big things that have made me think that this saber

Must be the TPM hero redressed is that it has the TPM style LED bezels. This type of bezel

and not this type of bezel

Which is found on this saber

However, seeing image of this stunt saber, which was cast from one of the ROTS SS heroes
shows led bezels that look like the TPM saber.

So, it makes me think that one of these new sabers must have had TPM style bezels at some point. Which, changes some of my ideas about the history of these sabers.

this is so interesting!

What I saw is no lip, the edges to the left and right are flush with the shroud. But to the front and back there's a gap due to the cylindrical nature of the shroud, which gets filled with resin when cast--same as the TPM saber. But, since I only have the auction pics to go off of it's all speculation

Yeah, it is hard to tell. Fat-lip bezels, or thin-lip bezels with the gaps filled by resin (or clay for molding without an undercut).

Still, Occam’s Razor dictates that since the metal salt-shaker has fat-lip bezels, then that’s what was molded and cast for the resin practice stunts.
