New model for OWK three holes saber... (New pics on pg 13. 11-17-2024)

If you looked earlier and saw it sold out, that was a glitch in the system that got overloaded by a bunch of purchases all at one. But it's back up with a few left. Thank you to everyone who supported me in this project.
I truly love and admire the dedication you have put through the lightsabers. How many are left? I don't wish to miss out.

Okay that was a great sleep after having to stay up until 8am my time to make the purchase I couldn't be more excited! So I'm glad we got the Emitter O ring theory sorted being the Doll holder wire frame stands.

Couldn't have racked my brain more on needing 2 or not settled on 1 as this beauty truly replicates the Saltshaker. The "interrupted" Cut is different, the Emitter black area is different to the TPM in scaling which changes placement aswell as the modelling in the pommel before the changeable caps, plus the finish of the black parts who knows I may end up getting another regardless (if they stay around long) for AOTC style with less Glossy black etc, But being that we allude the AOTC to being either Chrome Resin copy of the TPM or the BTS photo of the potential redressed TPM metal prop, I settled at 1 for the Saltshaker version. Can't wait for this to be paired with my Static TPM Dan and Dewy did

I'm so jealous of the US people. Being international this thread will be full of photos in the coming days teasing me aha. Although curious how many units remain generally after the launch, but the total run number I'm more curious on cause these beauties deserve their own plaques
Unfortunately for us, we have to worry about the mess that is the Postal Service.... or atleast in my area right now with the Holidays
:p

I purchased the Salt Shaker model today. Thank you for creating this masterpiece. I can't wait to see the actual hilt itself!

That is definitely a sharp looking saber and the different options really makes it a standout piece and a valuable addition to any lightsaber collection.

I have an older and inaccurate Kenobi TPM saber that I’ve thought about trying to convert into the SS version just as a visual placeholder. One of these days I’ll solicit someone to lathe/mill just the SS top to attach to my saber and then strip and refinish a knurled button for a ‘close enough’ version for me.

In anticipation of receiving the kit, I find myself thinking about the AOTC metal hero. Whether it was a reused TPM hero or a pre-ROTS salt-shaker, the domed part inside the brass valve doesn’t quite look like the purple aircraft rivet we’re used to seeing on the TPM version.

Unfortunately, reference is scarce, and so, based on what can be seen, it looks to me like either the purple anodizing wore off (revealing the aluminum beneath, which is kinda what the first image above looks like), or the dome itself is possibly brass. Hard to tell, since an aluminum rivet could be picking up reflections from the brass valve part surrounding it. But it sure looks like there are some golden specks of light reflecting off of that dome in the second image seen above. I almost wonder if—assuming the AOTC hero is a reconditioned TPM hero—maybe the aircraft rivet was perhaps replaced, and they used the resin castings (with the painted, gold-colored domes) as a reference.

Considering that both the TMP and AOTC resin casts painted the valve AND the rivet gold, I wonder if maybe the rivet on the hero was replaced with a brass version, or perhaps even the sort of brass ball-bearing that people believed that the AOTC props had, back in the day.

Of course, the Master Replicas version was based on a chromed resin prop, and so the gold-painted valve and rivet was their model.

And then the ROTS version threw us a curveball by replacing the rivet entirely with a red LED!

Interesting. To my eyes the AOTC greeblie is a tighter sphere than the rivets. I’ve handled a lot of them and the dome is much more gentle. The reflection on this thing looks like there would be a gap around the thing face on, and I kind of already see that in the second photo

Exactly!

I'm almost wondering if it's a brass or steel ball bearing.

The purple coating on the rivets is a soft cosmetic only anodize. The purple comes off rivets very, very easily exposing the bare metal below. This is by design, the rivets are purple to make clear that they are made of aluminum for use on aluminum parts. Once installed you don’t need to know what material it is, that’s why you’ve never seen a purple rivet on an airplane.

EDIT- after doing more research I remembered incorrectly. The coating is a colored anodize, post above was updated.
