New Member, Hi! I'm Tim. I'm new to replicas, costuming, and trying to get into Coplay. I LOVE Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica (Old and New). I hoping to meet several new friends that can help me and maybe I'll be able to help someone myself.

Hi all:
I am starting to do electronic kits for the DIY community and since I love Iron Man so much from my 70's comic collection days...well how about a wearable arc reactor with a difference?
Anyhow, cosplay is new to me,but E-product dev. is not and I hope to make a contribution. I am from the original Star Wars era.

Here is a kit I recently published:

Hello all. I've been searching the site for a while now and thought I should just jump in. I heard about the site on Still Untitled with Adam Savage. I'm a big fan.

I have been decorating my office with movie posters (Top Gun, and Skeleton Key) so far. For 'Top Gun', I also hung a model jet upside down from my A/C vent (it looks like its flying when the air comes on) - and I had some dog tags made with 'Top Gun' movie quotes.

Some of my other favorite movies are harder to accessorize (Skeleton Key, The Count of Monte Cristo).

Also, I plan to rotate movie posters in and out over time - so I'm hoping to find some easy projects for me to make myself. I consider myself a beginner maker - but I enjoy playing around.

Thanks for having me.

Hello from new baltimore michigan! I am very excited to find this forum! there are so many creative people here and I cant wait to spend hours reading and learning!

Hi I'm Hasan and I am from England, I finally joined the RPF after lurking the forums for almost a year now :p
I first visited the RPF forums searching for Iron man and i soon learnt about pepakura, I found using paper really annoying so i used cardboard for 2 helmets i made (First one is very rough and made from Cardboard, fibre glass, bond and car paint. The second helmet is simply cardboard painted with acrylic paint). Ive forgotten whose files I used :/ but here have a look: IMG_2565.jpg

I also made a Deadmau5 out of papier mach and cloth :DIMG_1509.jpg

Hi there. My name is Annie and I'm pretty much completely new to prop making. My friends and I are really big into costuming and are planning to build our own Warhammer 40k costumes for a con next year.

But, sooner than that, we are all planning to go to Universal Orlando (we have year passes) and completely dress us as our own original characters, my character is a Pro Quidditch player and that is what brought me here. I'm looking to make the entire outfit myself including robes, pads, bat and eventually a broom. I'm excited to be a part of this community while working on this project.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Howdy!

I've been lurking here and there for the past few months, waiting until the day I could register and see what the big fuss was all about.

I've always been a big fan of costuming and last year I started on the road to putting together a Biker Scout costume which is almost done by now. It's like a drug, though. My next project will be to put together a Cobra Viper costume and someday, in the future, I'll build myself a Warhammer Space Marine get-up.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone a newbie here, joined up as my halloween costume obsession has led to cosplay, and as I have gained inspiration from the site, I thought I might as well join.

I'm currently working on 4 projects, dead space 3/4 custom rig, green mighty morphing power ranger helmet, gears of war*any stroud costume for the gf and a gears gnasher shotgun replica to go with it, threads and pictures to come soon

Howdy all!

I've been lurking about on the RPF for a while, but I tend to err on the shy side. I worked my way over here from a robotics point of view, actually. I'm currently working on The Iron Girl Project, which is an attempt at working systems of the internals of the Iron Man exoskeletons (HUD, suit data collection, etc). The end-goal will to be have a suite of applications that anybody can use to turn their own exoskeletons and armors into functional, computing machines. I'll be posting up a thread about it soon once I've gone over the forum guidelines and all.

Hmm, what else. Oh, yes. Stuff I've built. Well, besides building computers and servers (I work in IT), I've built a few robots. My pride and joy is Victoria, pictured blow:

She is/was an autonomous rover with wireless video, Bluetooth support, and a dual rangefinding system that allowed a very basic sort of waypoint navigation around a room. I saw "was" because she recently got scrapped for parts, since she was in my parent's garage in south Florida due to moving around and a good amount of oxidation occurred on some of the control boards. When I finally got it back, it just threw a small seizure with one set of tracks and died.

Also, as a sneak peek, here's some footage of the hand repulsor from the Iron Girl Project.

Sorry for the vertical video syndrome, I was too excited to film properly on that one.

Other props I'd love to make include a Fallout AEP7 and AER14, a personalized Borderlands sniper rifle, some of the Oblivion (movie) tech, and Catwoman's goggles from TDKR. Cosplays? Catwoman, Claudia from Warehouse 13, Zer0, and a Sailor Jupiter, one day. Projects for way down the line? A Tumbler go-cart and a Nostromo-esque cockpit for all my computer screens. Also, if you're curious, my blog,is over here at LX1 Industries.

Can't wait to meet some of the awesome folks around here!

Cheers,
~Lexikitty
