Been lurking for awhile now, finally decided to join. I'm new to most of this, but I want to get into cosplay a bit more, hoping to start with a Red Hood set and move on from there. The builds here seem to by and large be very high quality, so it looks like a good place to pick up the craft.

Hey everybody,
I'm new here (and to costuming in general), so far I only have two piece but I feel like there will a lot more, especially since summer is right around the corner. I am interested in Mass Effect armor and props. So far I have made a Mass Effect Avenger inspired rifle and an N7 breather helmet (just finished today).

Hi

I found out about this sight when I was searching up how to make a Spider-Man costume, and a lot of the things required to make one always led back to here. So I decided to join and perhaps make a spidey costume of my own.

alo ...

I'm a designer living and all I liked the comic and Sci Fy, so I want to do several projects and with their help and guidance I'm sure I stay 100%

success and thanks to all ... :thumbsup

Hi everyone,
like many people, I've been lurking here for a few weeks checking out various projects etc, before taking the time to actually register.
I'm back in the UK now, after spending the last decade and a half in Virginia and South Carolina.
i was obsessed with Star Wars as a kid, watching it everyday after school for over a year, and ever since my first viewing, I've always wanted a stormtrooper costume. I tried a few times as a kid to make some, but with no guidance, and never enough boxes, it always ended with a disastrous pile of mush and destroyed boxes.
with life getting in the way, as it always does, those dreams and ideas get moved to the dark dank recesses of my mind, until recently when I stumbled upon this website.
Looking at other peoples projects has reignited the burning passion within me ( I'm sure there is a cream available over the counter for that ) and with no wife to nag me about little bits of paper / card stock laying all over the house, it's time to give it a go.
since I've never done any paper craft before, I thought I would start off with something a little easier than a Stormtrooper bucket and armor, so I'm open to any ideas or suggestions.
I suffer from degenerative disk disorder and chronic back/hip/leg pain, so while I have a lot of spare time to kill each day, my world tends to move at a snails pace.
i thought I might try fierfek's excellent Boba fett bucket, ( without the fiddly ear piece ) .. I'll post some pics as I mess it up .. Erm I mean as I go along

2woozy..

Hey everyone!

I am new here and I am new to cosplaying and costuming. I have been learning a lot for everyone here just creeping around. I am just starting a project in preparation for the next ComicCon, and thought it would be a good idea to register and learn from the others here. I look forward to it!

Hi, I am Michael Duryea, Hello, I already knew a couple of people here, I believe. I have been a long time reenactor and started costuming several years ago. I always took my reenactor prespectives on my costumes, to look as "historically" accurate as possible, I am a long time Star Wars fan and practically rediscovered LOTR when the movies came out. My latest interest is Doctor Who. I look forward to being here, learning as much as I can and share all that I can, as well.

Hello all,

I've been reading this forum for about a couple years. I have a tiny bit of modeling experience, 3D CAD, Design, Electronics, 3D printer, CNC, ect. Ever since I saw Hackers 1/72 scale Star Wars Rebel hanger, I wanted to build it! That really Inspired me and I set out on a journy. I aquired a Fine Molds 1/72 Millennium Falcon, a Y-Wing, And a few X-Wings. Then started to research everything from painting and weathering, what kind of airbrush should I get, what paints, what to clean it with, all about future floor polish, you name it I was learning it. I had built a few models in my life and have some building skills but never really "finished a model" painting, weathering ect. Then life got in the way and its been shelved for about a year. I got back on it but not going to build the hanger as originaly planed. The Falcon is being done in a VERY different way and will be on its own with some ground support equipment and mounted nicely. I will be posting over on the general modeling section in a day or two to show you what I mean by different. I hope I will be able to contribute something here as well.

Hello everyone,

The name is Justin. I've been stalking this website now for a few months almost every single day in order to find a Tjack faceshell. My girlfriend made me a Spider-Man costume (tasm2) a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. I am not the best at building or crafting but I think after reading some of the tutorials posted on this site, I will gain enough experience to be able to do so. My costume's current state is unknown (because my girlfriend is fixing some of the stitching that she KIND OF messed up) but all that is left for me to do are the lenses (and face shell hopefully) and Painting the web lines. She had already printed them on the fabric I think they need to stand out more. I hope that I can model the costume for you guys to show you the amazing job my girlfriend did, and hope to be able to buy a few things in the process.

Love from Canada,

Spydrbyt

Hello everyone!

I have lurked this site for a few years but now that I have recently joined the 501st & Rebel Legion with a Tusken Raider costume I am going to be digging much deeper into the world of custom made props. There are just too many I want to start working on.......

Cheers!

Hey there!
I'm Knuet from Germany and a couple of days ago I found a site in the internet where a man is presenting his Space Marine armour. He wrote that it is made of foam. What is an impressive detail. I never thought that such an armour can be build of foam. Somehow I start to think about building my own armour. Despite this idea, I'm complete new to the prop building. The only things I build in my freetime are leather sheaths for knives.
But maybe it's time to try something new. ;-)

Greeting RPF members!!

I have been reading around this site for almost a year now and fell that it is about time that I got my own account and started contributing!

Good luck to all of you in your endeavors.

Hello everyone,

Long time lurker. Finally joined. This forum has been of great help to me over the years, so many thanks. I do software by day, but have a pretty decent history of building things (mostly DIY and repairs) and wanted to get more into prop models, so thought it was time I signed up. I look forward to contributing.

Hello, all.

Name is Chris. New to costuming and really impressed with all that is on here.

I am a big guy (6'4" 280#) and am really looking forward to seeing what costuming has to offer me and what I have to offer the community.
