Hello, I'm J I have quite a collection of swords and knives not that it's huge but I like what I have and have always looked for unique and authentic. I started when young I have a prop that is made just like the original lightsaber in a new hope given to Luke. I have aquired quite a few gil hibben knives. One has been in many movies but originally was called the Raptor, another ended up in Natural Born Killers called The Highlander. I have a butterfly knife from Benchmade Bli-Song that has titanium handles that are longer so the blade can't be caught in the latch which is spring loaded and has replaceable roll pins, it's razor sharp and when locked could be thrown it's that tight. I have a real ivory straight razor that is very old but I don't have a clue how old or how to find out. I have both Conner McCloud's katana's one is signed rather etched and numbered and I have a gold eddition 348 out of 1000 dragon lord Gil Hibben Knife, I have The Glamdring, I have really gotten into dexter and have started to source out getting his kill bag together. bag is on the way. I have many other knives swords and just really into Dexter right now. Any questions please let me know.

What's up all. Fairly new here. Joined back in May but as the slacker I am, just now posting. My name is Tom and I came across this forum looking for some hints and tips on putting together my cosplay for DragonCon 2014. After reading through a lot of posts, realized there are some awesome people on here and many willing to share their knowledge and experience. Hope to get to know some of you and start expanding my prop and cosplay knowledge.

Evening, all-

New to the cosplay arena like everyone even though I've done what could be loosely termed cosplay during the original run of Star Trek the Next Generation and a lot of sets for Harry Potter and Star Wars and superhero gigs for volunteer Halloween stuff. LOL I'm a historical reenactor since childhood, majored in ancient and medieval history (specializing in Alexander the Great and Ptolemaic Egypt specifically). Nowadays I do the occasional renfaire for fun and not for profit or full time. I dabble. I've worked living history museums, but in American that's pretty much the Wild West or Revolutionary War, which is boring to me cuz I've done it all my life.

Past cosplay has been random Jedi, Shizuka Hio from Vampire Knight and now I'm working on trying to figure out how dumb I am to rule 63 the Capt America First Avenger Bucky costume. My roommate thinks I'm insane considering my sewing skills are...questionable. Looking forward to being part of the community!

Good afternoon from merry old England.

I've always been into movie props, costumes, general geekery and have been lurking on this site for a number of months, becoming increasingly inspired by the astonishingly ingenious builds that are bursting out of these pages. I've had my jaw dropped too many times to mention, but some favourites include the Sigourney Weaver bust sculpt, full size Wall-E, basically anything Thorssoli has done (ED-209 holy moly), the attention to detail that people go to for authentic prop replicas (ANH sabres to name but one), all the various Iron Man/Batman/Spiderman builds and seeing how different people tackled the various problems thrown up by them...the list could go on and on. Needless to say I've felt guilty enough at my lack of project undertaking to finally join the forum and have a dabble, but, I've got a fair old bit more research to do before I embark on my first 'public' build. So you could say I'm looking forward to being a padawan for the forseeable future.

Here's to not too many frustrating hours spent in the garage.

Cheers,

Ian

Hello everyone!

I found this forum through a posting on the 'Armor Archive.' My primary interest is working in metal to re-create armor of the 14th and 15th centuries, but I've always been interested in the creations from the imagination of authors and movie-makers. After browsing through the pages here, I have to say that I am impressed with the talent and creativity on display.

While I doubt I can add much to any discussion, I certainly wish to applaud the work of others.

hey

Hello everybody,

My name is Johnny and I was a long time lurker of this forum. I always wanted to contribute some of my knowledge to all the projects on here so I decided to make an account. Hopefully we can get along with each other and make some cool stuff.

Thank you,
J

Hey! I'm FINALLY signing up for an RPF account, even though I've reviewed items on this site for a while.

I've made items for glorified Halloween costumes for MANY years, but last year I attended my first Comic Convention in a mostly store bought costume as Captain America. That HOOKED ME! I started making my own pieces for a custom Captain America costume, attending MORE conventions, and making friends. I now am part of a tight little group of costumers and we try to attend cons on a fairly regular basis. We're even doing some charity events too!

Anyway, I've included some images of the various costumes and suits I've built. If anyone is interested, I'll try to put together some "how-to's" on what I've done as well.

Hello! Thank you for welcoming me into the forum. I have to admit, I am a a bit of a noob when it comes to building props and costumes. To be really truthful, it is Adam Savage's fault that I am here, with his fantastic collection of goodies.

I am working on a custom star wars costume, am starting to learn some sculpting, and am in charge of costumes, props, and set for a big annual New Years Eve youth party in Saskatchewan. Pretty fantastic world I get to live in!

I am hoping to gain wisdom from the best this forum has to offer, and hopefully make some connections that may be fruitful for the projects I have headed my way. Thanks again for this forum, I am looking forward to lurking here regularly :)

Hello, I am really bad at ice breakers, yet here I am. I first discovered you when researching designs for a cosplay project i am building, now I am building other cosplays projects, I thought i could benefit from the wisdom of this forum.

Oh where are my manners? My name is Lee, I live in the UK.

I said I'm bad at icebreakers, so hello to everyone.

Hi! I'm Kim and this is kinda a link for both myself and my husband. We live in Florida and are currently working on Loki and Lady Loki cosplays. We are fairly new to foam armor and cosplaying so we hope this will help us improve. Excited to other peoples ideas :)

Good Evening!
My name is Rylli (say it like Riley. :3 ) United States.
This year I finally decided to bite the bullet and do my dream cosplay...which requires a lot of armor building. I'm afraid I've bitten off more than I can chew. But I'm determined. So, somehow I found this forum and signed right up. Just from being here a couple of days, I've read a lot of great threads. And now I'm super psyched. So, please be prepared for me to ask a billion questions. And throw fruit at me if I annoy you.
Thank you to whomever reads this. And...Hello!

Hello to everybody at the RPF community!

This is my introduction to all the community. Sorry for the extension!!!

I've been modelling since 14, and now I'm 49... I was on theaters on 1977 watching Star Wars, and I was engaged to the Saga since then... I've discovered RPF and I've read so many interesting posts on modelling about the SW Saga. People here are amazing! Very active.

I've been doing model kits for years, but not regularly, because I've too many hobbies and not so much time for everything. I've done some SW model kits like the X-Wing, the AT-AT, and the Millennium Falcon -not finished yet (my excuses)-, but there are sitting on the shelf some others waiting to be build -TIE, Snowspeeder, Jedi Fighter...-. And I've completed other kits from motorcycles, helicopters, aircrafts, and I've more models waiting...

Twenty years ago with 3D Studio I've also created 3D meshes just for fun -X-Wing, Y-Wing, Tie, Death Star, Shuttle Tydirium- and I've created a very short animation -without sound- on the nineties... You can watch it on Youtube -Star Attack-.

I'm a fan of Star Wars, motorcycles, cars, classical cars and motorcycles, science and tech and recently I've started designing 3D parts.
Surprisingly, I've mixed my Star Wars passion with the 3D, and now I'm upgrading my Falcon with 3D printed parts that I'm designing myself. I've designed also some plastic parts for my classical car, and so on... Too many projects on my head, too many...

I will try to post some shots of my model kits and creations.

Well. Sorry for the extension of my introduction and thank you for watching.

Hello, my name is Brittany. I haven't made any props or anything yet. My husband and I are currently trying to get pregnant and I have lots of ideas for our nursery that I would like to do! He and I are also both interested in trying cosplay but haven't found out yet just how to make our outfits (I'm in love with Sailor Moon and Wonder Woman and he's in love with anything Final Fantasy lol.) So that sums it up I guess minus that I'm very artsy I'm typically doing something artsy....currently making our tree ornaments for Christmas Pokemon inspired. We will have rare candies, Pokeballs and if I can get medicine bottles from people (within friends and family), we will also have vitamins as well as Pikachu atop the tree lighting the lights ;)

Hey, Names Jack, Started taking an interest in modeling recently, Never made anything yet but I will be starting with some basic stuff very soon, I came across this forum and saw all the amazing things people can do so thought I'd sign up so I too can post my stuff and be able to ask for advice.

Hello there!

My name is Hannah and I have been a cosplayer for about 4 years. So far it's mostly all been fabric work but I am hoping to take it further with more challenges and bigger builds! I've recently learnt quite a bit about Worbla and similar; I'm currently building Lady Sif's armour from Thor. I love to learn and I can't wait to be a more active member of this community - the people I have met so far have been wonderful!

Update Your Browser | Facebook - this has so far been the home of my building madness!

I hope to get to know more of you soon :)
