Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi,

Signed up a few months ago and been digging through the site. Loving the stuff that people are making. I work in the film industry as a special effects tech as it is, so experience some of this first hand.

I currently have a 1:2 scale mk III iron man that I purchased as a raw cast about a 8 months ago. I will be starting my custom build for my 1:2 scale mk I iron man soon, once work is less maniac.

Hey yall, Frank here. Im a 30 year old techy nerd who loves movies, coffee and TMNT XD

I mainly use Tumblr for all my pictures and updates on armor builds but after watching Stealth on Youtube for so long i finally thought why not check this site out. Immediately i found someone local who is cosplaying to a convention im going to and thought that was so awesome. My main costume will be the Halo 4 Warrior Spartan armor when im finally done with it. Other than that i have the Halo 3 Mark 5 armor, Mass Effect armor and a Tobi costume from Naruto. Hope to meet some cool people and see some awesome builds to help inspire me on my projects. tumblr_mlxq67P5EW1ra98evo1_1280.jpgtumblr_mloma8b60t1ra98evo6_1280 (1).jpg

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone.

I've stumbled across this forum whilst trying to find tutorials on making a cowl.
It's seems like there are a lot of talented people here and hopefully you don't mind passing your knowledge on to me as I'm just getting in to this.

I have experience in life casting and sculpting but I've never made anything like this before.

See you around :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all,

I've been interested in propmaking for a while, but getting a TechShop membership as a gift really motivated me to start making stuff. My first project is going to be a Mass Effect M-6 Carnifex pistol.

The only thing I've made recently is a portal gun:

I also recently remembered that I made Anakin's lightsaber from scratch about 15 years ago, so I just dug it up:

Anyway, I'm excited to get started and learning from all of you!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there, I'm Dan

This site was recommended to me by a local prop maker, and I can see why. I have minimal experience in prop making, as I've on made 3.
This is my cosplay as Desmond from Assassin's Creed.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello! I stumbled across this forum while looking for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers pepakura files. Errr, while I haven't found them quite yet, I have found this forum to be an interesting and helpful place. My summer project will be making a set of the power rangers helmets and potentially some morphers for halloween next fall. I'm from Arkansas here in the US and I'm actually fairly new to prop making and costuming.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey Guys, I guess the term is NEW but NOT NEW to the RPF, I used to be a member here many years back and lost touch but I always knew deep down inside the immortal words of Arnold "i'll be back!" would play a part in my life and yes I am back. I always posted here under the name Viperforce and I still am Viperforce. Most know me for my lightsaber company Lightech Industries which is temporarily on hold but none the less it feels great to be a part of the greatest place on the web, with some of the greatest people...THE RPF!
Thanks sooo much Mike aka Viperforce

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings RPF, I am a big fan of the creativity of the people that make up this wonderful site. I am looking forward to learning about how to make great costumes. Glad to be apart of such a great lnline community!!!:D

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, my name is Cory Alexander, and I'm posting from southeast Arizona.

I've always enjoyed building things with my hands, but I didn't really get into actual prop building until I joined the Arizona Ghostbusters. I'm captain of the Tucson chapter, and have built a few GB items since joining the team. I guess Ghostbusters props have been my priority for a few years, but I'm now working on a (mostly) 3D printed "Vera" replica (inspired by the fellow that made the CNC'd aluminum replica some years ago). I'd like to start a thread chronicling my "Vera" build, if anyone's interested... it should be done in a couple of weeks, because I need it for Phoenix Comic Con.

My list of major props I've completed include:
- Basic, 100%, barely accurate, scratch-built GB2 Proton Pack (pack lights only)
- Much more accurate fiberglass, resin, and aluminum GB1 Proton Pack (full lights and sound, signed by 3 of the actors)
- Modified Motorola MT500 radio (as used in GB) with a bluetooth speakerphone built inside (so I can use my cell at cons without breaking character)
- One of the first complete Ecto Containment Unit builds (including portable "wall" section for transporting and displaying at conventions)
- Ecto-AZ Truck (original Chevy Silverado mod for us to use at AZGB events... all temporary decoration)

I've kept and published build progress records along with "how to" information on each build on my Facebook page... some of these builds have YouTube videos (links below, if you're interested).

If anyone's really interested, I could re-post my build progress and other information to new threads on RPF. I don't know if anyone would be interested, of if that's something cool for a noob to do, but just let me know. :)

I also enjoy being a loving husband and father... and collecting vintage arcade and pinball machines.

It's great to be here!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello good people of the RPF :) I've been spending all my time over in the R2 builders club. My R2 is nearing completion and I'm starting to thing about doing a Han DL-44 blaster (can't yet decide on ANH or ESB). I hope to get the feel of the RPF and how thing work around here :) For any other R2 builders that may be hanging around over here, my user name over on Astromech is R2-SR. Anyway here is a photo of my r2 as it sits right now at about 85% (still waiting on some parts)

Heya, i'm Sam from Toronto, and I'm in Grade 10.

I currently am seeking to build some cool replicas and armoury, but i'm totally out of experience. I would like a bit of start-up tutorials I can find here or other websites, so...Yeah, that's about it.

;3

Hello!

My name is Kit. I've decided to get more into Cosplay. I've not made anything myself yet, so no personal experience. I found this site looking for info on modding a Playmates TNG Tricorder.

I'm completely 100% new, no tools whatsoever so some tips would be nice! I'm trying to shove a keychain digital photo frame into it.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

My name is Sean, Im basically brand brand new to the RPF site here . I have heard alot of good things form the grapevine about the site and look forward to being part of the group/community. About me : I just got started heavily into modeling about 18 months ago and started doing DIY lighting on them about 6 months later.
