Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I've built things since I was a child. Over the last few years I've gotten into plastic and metal fabrication as well as incorporating electronics into my designs.
I'm a fan of automation and most of my home's lighting, heating/air, entry access, and media is automated.
Most of my work has been related to my house, but I've started working on ideas for costuming, ran across this forum and immediately became a fan of the amazing work I've seen here.

Unfortunately, a busy corporate job keeps me from working on projects as much as I'd like.

My girlfriend, Angie Starr, is a well known Cosplayer and many of my projects are beginning to revolve around her costumes.

We live in downtown Atlanta. If you attend DragonCon, please say hi. We'll be running around stopping every 5 feet for me to move out of the way so someone can take a pic of my girl. lol We'll be onstage for the Sat night rave as well. My two friends run the event and DJ it, so it's always a great time.
Here's a pic from last year a friend had some fun with. My FB profile is under my stage name from when I was a professional musician.

Thanks to all for creating a great community and sharing your knowledge. I'm looking forward to learning a lot and making new friends.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello All.
I stumbled across this forum while looking into making a ironman/war machine costume, the amount of knowledge and help on here seems to be endless.
I'd never heard of pepakura before i found this site, those who create the templates are great many thanks for taking the time to do them and allowing others to use your hard work.
A little bit about myself, My name is Steven and I come from England. when i was younger I used to build a lot of star trek and world war 2 model kits plus some warhammer 40,000 never actually played the game just enjoined painting the figures.
lately I haven't done much model building due to family and work, most I've done is make a few simple halloween costumes.
I've already ordered a printer (must be about the only person in the world who didn't own one) and hope to use the pepakura files to create my own war machine costume so wish me luck! hopefully my wife won't get to annoyed with me ignoring her while i do it :p

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and I hope you don't mind me squeezing your brains some more every now and then.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everybody i am Finbarr. I love prop making. my ambition and dream is to get a job in the movies as either a director or a special effects and costume person. I really love special effects. I make my own movies so that i can make props and effects for them. However, i cant get anybody to help me out where i live so i mostly do stuff by myself. I dont have a lot of money so i mostly make my stuff out of paper mache. However, i am working to find a new medium. Some of my favorite movies are the Alien, Predator, and AVP Franchises. I dream about being involved in those films. One day i hope to make an AVP fanfilm. I love LOTR and the hobbit. I am really excited about this website. I hope to find people who share my interests and make friends.

I really want to make an AVP fanfilm. That would be so epic. If anybody has tips that would be nice. Last year for Holloween i made a predator cotume. It was an ok costume. I made all the armor out of paper mache and cardboard. and i made the wig useing thick yarn for the dreads. For the skin i used a pare of old long johns that i died and markered up. All in all it was pretty good.

Something i do a lot of is Stop motion. I cant find anybody who wants to act in a movie. everybody is always to busy playing video games. I do not have anything against video games. I play them to. But i also like to do other things. Since i cant get anybody to act in my films i do stop motion animation. I have been doing Stop motion for 6 years. I might just start a stop motion tutorial. I dont know.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all!

So I'm a complete newbie when it comes to armor/prop making but I somehow came across Pepakura yesterday and am now in love! I've always wanted to make my own costumes and due to time/whatever I've always ended up buying them. Now is the time for change and I'm hoping to make a complete costume this summer. I've really admired my friends who have made these elaborate costumes and I want to have something I can be proud of saying that I made it.

Currently I'm testing out small models to get the feel for Pepakura. Thankfully I have a BF who has experience in fiberglass resin, so he'll be teaching me that side.

Costumes I'd like to complete:
- Master Chief
- Kat (Halo Reach)
- Ironman
- Fem!Loki
- Fem!Ironman
- Boba Fett (more armor wise - got the helmet already)
- Various weapons

Not using Pepakura:
- 501st ready Stormtrooper (not sure which movie I'd like yet, still leaning towards ANH)
- Padawan Rapunzel (based off of art by Pushfighter on DA)

So here's to a new journey using Pepakura, Worbla, and anything else I can get my hands on.

Hello,

My name is Michael and I live in Belgium. French speaker, I have to deal with a low english level. Hope you'll beg me for that. It's about a year I come on that board to have information on modeling and cosplay-making skills. I'll never try to make my own cosplay but I really want to have a first atempt.

I have a lot of project in mind as sentai or star wars costumes as these are the themes I like. Hope I will find enough information to find the motivation to begin a first project. So prepare to receive some question about your own abilities.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all.

I thought it was time that I joined. Have been a viewer of this forum for ages and there are some very very talented people on here.

I thought I would join as my son in law is mad on sly Stallone and loves everything 80s although he wasn't even born then! And he loves the film cobra? He has asked if me if I know where he can get a resin cast of the pistol used in the film along with the cobra grip.....I don't suppose anyone knows?

Massive fan of star wars and are currently doing my first e11 blaster.

Thanks all........fantastic forum.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,

My names Nick, and I'm half American half Korean. I've lived all over since I'm an Army brat, and I'm currently living in London.

I'm new to prop making as well as the forum. I found out about the forum while looking up how to make an Ironman costume. I've only gotten as far as making the Pepakura model helmet so far since I'm tight on money at the moment. I didn't realize when I started how costly and time consuming this would be, but I'm looking forward to the whole process. I'm also having trouble finding somewhere I would be able to do all the fiberglass and bondo work since I live in a flat, and don't have the space or proper ventilation.

I've got a little bit of experience making prototype models of Nerf and Saebo products. I worked as an intern, and got to do alot of the mold making and casting which was really exciting(plus getting to play with Nerf guns all day was a blast).

Looking forward getting to know you all and learning alot!

Nick
