Re: *** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!
I noticed the same thing on Testors website
[LINK]. The current version is
very tacky. I bought both clear cases that I found because I think they've discontinued them. The other one may be used for the CT sonic so they match.
Actually, that one IS the same one we have. The "diamond plate" is just a piece of cardboard laid onto the clear base. It's a box panel that you cut out and put on the base if you so choose. Look at the picture again and you'll see what I mean.
But the new ones in stock at my local hobby shop, the entire base is the vac-metalized silver chrome color, with the raised up "diamond" pattern molded in. You'd notice the difference immediately, because even the sides of the base have that chrome look. I guess someone at Testor's REALLY likes that "diamond plate" steel look! :rolleyes
Thanks! The tricky part will be obtaining appropriate high-res images and vector logo files.
Actually, look at
GAITORBAIT9696's thread in the Junkyard. He's been doing this for AWHILE, so he already has a lot of the necessary logos. Trust me on this one. :cool
And if you look at the thread about the
MFX Warehouse prop replicas, you'll see that Howard recently posted an image of the plaque that he's planning to make as a group run for those that want them. He also received some feedback on changes people would like to see. If you have any thoughts about his plaque design, feel free to share them.
I didn't use any tape because I don't want to damage the COA. Instead, I picked up some clear photo corner holders used to mount photos in scrapbooks. The COA is mounted on the inside of the case:
I had to buy a box of 250 of the things from a local craft store to get the four I needed! :lol
Wow, that's an awful lot of them! But now you have them on hand if you ever need them again! :lol
And I thought I was seeing a little clear plastic corner mount of some kind, just wanted verification. When I put the plaque in the case, I may move the COA up to the back panel like you did. As you can see in my pics, right now, it's just kinda laying in there, propped up between the back panel, and the rear edge of the sonic's display stand, a quick and dirty way of displaying it. Your solution looks better.
