2024 SECRET SANTA THREAD - Registration Now CLOSED!

I didn’t have my SS revealed, but that’s ok! I got the music box from Anastasia and it’s beautiful! Goes perfect on my antique Vanity too. Always great when I have instant spots to display my RPFSS gifts. Thank you!
I'm overjoyed that you like it. I rushed it into a box and tossed it at the postal agent before realizing I hadn't put username anywhere. The movie Anastasia was the opening to my long interest in the Romanovs as well as russian art. I was so excited to see it listed as one of your interests and knew I had to put it together.

Thank you so much to my secret Santa! I only just had the chance to open it. Someone has done their research on me, because it's a smattering of bits from some of my favourite franchises. I particularly loved the screen used Bond banknote! The Jurrassic park plate is going straight on my wall and I love the staff of Ra headpiece! Will is going straight on my Indy display shelf.

Thank you so much mystery person! You rock and I really appreciate all the effort you went to.
Mike

I opened this amazing gift about a week ago and was stunned. A huge Hellboy Mechaglove hand built by inaleakyshed. This thing is built out and heavy. So many fun little details custom made to fit into the glass vials.
Unfortunately my post office is notorious for being less then gentle and a few parts had broken off. Not a chance I would post such a awesome gift in that state. With his help I got it fixed back up and to it's full glory. This is going to be a focal point and conversation piece on my work desk for sure. Another incredible Secret Santa this year!

I'm glad you like it! Maybe I'll ship in a Pelican case next year. =D

You can mark me as received! Thank you again Muddler for another great gift. This year I got cold cast Erebor key and cool map! (Even tho the letter mentoned some imperfections in the key, I only see some unique character on the backside Funnily enough I have also tried to make this key myself before but the 3d print failed so many times I gave up so I really appriciate this).

This is also perfect addition to my collection at a perfect time since I am starting to DM a Moria and Erebor based dungeons and dragons campaign in a few months, which revolves greatly around finding a lost dwarven key to depths of the mines. Now i have a physical prop for that View attachment 1891343
Glad to hear that you like the gift!
Making a viable mold for the key really gave me the headaches (and didn't completely turn out as intended :notworthy:).
The more I am glad that you are still happy with it - and that you already have a cool plan to put it to use in your D&D campaign! :D

I received today and, NICE! I do like the Mandalorian and do not already have these and if I did they wouldn't have lights that activate when taken off your belt!!! I've been wanting to put together a Mando cosplay for awhile, so this is perfect. Thank you Santa..
Thanks to Michael as well for putting this together again.

You're more than welcome,

Apologies to my Santa (Seraph77)! Had company and then called out of town. Finally got time to take some photos.

This year I received a killer handmade (?), wooden keychain holder. It came with a 3D printed bomb keychain to complete the joke.

This is a repeat Santa for me. A couple years ago we missed the deadline, but did our own gift exchange. Here’s that gift with my new one, both from the Batman ‘66 movie.

Can’t wait to hang this up! Thank you so much! Would love to hear the process of making this when you get a chance!

I can't believe you still have the Oceanic Repellant Bat Sprays!
Don't worry, I understand about any delays. I am so glad you like it!

Here is the rundown on how I made it if you are interested. (This project also got me motivated to finally fix my mini cnc mill/engraver.) I think I might have a progress pic or two on my phone as well...
The wooden keychain holder was a combination of cnc mill engraving and hand carving. I took the Batman '66 logo and traced it in Fusion 360, extruded his face and the overall outline, then added the letters for engraving. The mini cnc mill that I have engraved the letters and the basic outline of the face and bat silhouette. I cut the main shape out with the band saw and sanded the edges trying to leave a little of the cnc traced edge for a mini routed edge look. I hand carved/filed the sharper details, stained the overall piece and painted the engraved letters and face. I wish I had used a darker stain, I was running short of time, so I couldn't redo it after the one I used didn't go as dark as I thought it would. (I wouldn't be offended if you paint it for a more authentic Batman logo look.) Then I attached the hanging hardware and the hooks.
The bomb was a simple 3d modeled sphere (again in Fusion 360) with a metal tube that had threads on one end because I didn't think a 3d printed shaft would hold up to any abuse. I scaled the sphere to match the metal tube and it turned out a bit larger than will probably fit comfortably in a pocket. I know that the movie bomb doesn't show a fuse but I imagine it had one before we saw it already lit right? Having a fuse provided a convenient way to hold the keyring. The sphere has a hollow cylinder that allowed me to tie a knot in one end of the rope to hold the key ring on the other side with a simple tied off end. I painted the tube, printed a plug for the bomb cylinder, glued in the plug and sanded the bottom smooth.
I hope that's not too much information! I apologize for doubling up on the Batman '66, I hope that's alright. (I guess it has been a few years in between huh?) Adam West is probably my favorite Batman.
Merry Christmas!

Please mark me as received Michael!

I received a beautifully made, scale model of the death star doors from Richard!!! Looks exactly like the door where Luke and Leia swing across.

Lovely work!! Now to find a safe place for it XD

End of this week is when we'll start counting things as lost, there were a few that didn't ship until VERY late as well as the Canadian postal strike put a wrench in things. (y)

Please marked me received.

My Secret Santa hit a home run with several items. First let me say THANK YOU!! Greatly appreciated and thanks to Michael for coordinating the event every year. Below are the photos love all the items. Especially the painted scene capturing the interior of Tie fighter firing on the X Wing. Gotta get that bad boy framed.
