New Indiana Jones Items from Disney - Sankara Stone, Crystal Skull, Holy Grail, Idol, Staff of Ra headpiece

The Disney one looks like a 3D print.Very clean and symmetric.
Only negative is it looks like there are "print line" artifacts on the smooth outer portion as a result of the manufacturing process. You can see this at 1:29 on the following video. Perhaps some weathering will hide that.

Symmetric has nothing to do with 3D printing as far as I know. You can print anything you want.

In any case, it's really not much like the Aliexpress one at all (I have it too). The Aliexpress one is very thin (Looks and feels more like a giant coin, IMO than a "3D Print" almost like it was stamped) and the feathers look very different. There is nowhere to attach it to a staff. It has no opening and is too thin to support one. It does come with a chain, but the "coral" look "round" and the chain really only appeared on the Raven Bar version . The Disney one is quite heavy (right up there with Relicmaker's medallion), slightly larger than his (Ali's is slightly smaller) and probably at least twice as thick (see photos attached).

The staff holder by Relicmaker almost fits the Disney medallion too (just a hair too wide, but could probably be filed down to fit with little difficulty).

Other than the "lines" in the gold and the symmetric changes and copyright (and if you don't like a red jewel), it's actually quite good quality, IMO. I'm not saying it's "accurate". I'm saying it's well made and extremely detailed. You can't even tell on most medallions there's "cherubs" there because they're "mush" (even Relicmaker's is hard to tell). The one from the Noble Collection actually has the best "cherub" I've ever seen.

Noble Medallion:

Dark Matter "BamBox" looks pretty good, but braid around it seems kind of "thick" to me and it's at least as shiny and polished as the Disney one:

I got one called the McGuffin off Etsy and it's oversized and supposedly hand drawn, but very detailed and the only other one I have at the moment (Sarednab version is on the way) other than Relicmaker's medallion that has a separate soldered on braid around it. I like it, even if it's not screen accurate:

My MK (Micheal Key) version is bronze made from the father mold of the famous "Acme" version (more detailed). It has a thinner neck and a different braid, but it's very distinctive looking and the one I have mounted on my full size Staff of Ra:

Actual ACME:

There's Indy Magnoli's (one of them anyway) that's full bronze as well, very detailed and has the distorted tail feather (reshaped) mold:

Resin version from a similar mold?

and of course the Raven Bar Relicmaker:

My Lapel Pin version:

I made these two myself (Mag's Secret Sugar Ra Ra Medallions) and they were delicious.... :D

I'm also not sure why people are saying the cherubs are "deleted" on the Disney version as the arms and wings are still there. The only medallion I have seen where you can see a definitive "head" for the cherubs is the Noble one. You're lucky if you can make out the arms.

Nice collection Von. Curious, do you have the newer version of the headpiece by Dark Matter? If so, what are your thoughts on that one compared to the Disney version?

Another headpiece you might want to be on the look out was made by RelicRaider. It was cold cast bonze and oversized, but extremely detailed. I used to have one and will see if I have any pics. I also have Acme, RelicMaker, AliExpress, Dark Matter, and Ravenwood Coins versions.

No, I don't. I was thinking of ordering one, though, perhaps in antique gold to differentiate it more.

Hmmm, it seems I have a necklace version I forgot about too.... I think I saw a tie pin version at one point as well.

There's a version a member named HotFuzz on here has I like the looks of too, but I have no idea who made it, let alone where to find one. I asked him about it, but I never got a reply. If anyone knows what version it is, let me know:

Someone asked me in private about what are these cherubs on the Staff Of Ra Medallion supposed to be so it occurs to me not everyone on here knows about them and this being a Disney based thread, it seems like a good place to point it out. Here's a Photoshopped combined image showing the cherub on the Noble Collection Staff of Ra Medallion (It's a top-down view of the angel and it's the cleanest version I've seen where you can actually make out the head and arms clearly) vs a 3D view of the cherubs as they would sit on top of the Ark lid of the Ark of the Covenant. In short, they encoded the winged cherub angels that sit on the Ark into the Staff of Ra Medallion itself (only on the IMAM version):

There are a few scenes where I could swear the skull is smaller. Mostly when Oxley is running around with it and especially when he's on the ground for the ant scene holding it out as the ants move around him.

I find it amusing that "size" is the biggest complaint about the Disney skull. It's not like it's off by a large amount. Given the cost of the few I've seen offered that compare, I'd say it's still a fair price and a decent piece.

From The Making of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: “Different sizes of crystal skulls were produced for different scenes.” So anyone complaining that the Disney prop isn’t the right size doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Like Kevin, I’m very happy with my skull and agree with VonMagnum about the price and the prop itself.

haters gonna hate  We all , most seem to like it. Well at least you 3 stand up for it

My skull arrived today and I have to agree at the price point it's pretty darn great and licensed to boot. I am happy

Looking for an accurate Francisco De Orellana Golden Death Mask and some paperprops to show it with the skull.
