Are there images showing the slotted screw under the emitter lip? I think I missed this, and it changes some things for me
Certainly does raise a few questions for me too. It *could* have some implications for whether the body is actually one single, solid piece. (I'm still inclined to believe it is based on other features). I think it's more likely something to do with securing the rods, but other images show the emitter entrance to be very shallow. Could it be cosmetic? Maybe there to fill a hole that was made in error? Or that was no longer required? It's definitely something of a mystery. At least one thing's for sure; it's definitely there! :D

I could be misremembering but, doesn't the Yuma have this hole? Could it be a residual artifact from that and it was filled to cover it for the pick up shot?

I'd definitely agree that it was probably there from it's days as the short stunt. I can't see any reason for a feature like that being added after that?

Just a crazy thought, and probably ridiculous, but **could** the Yuma have started life as a cast?? I always assumed that it wasn't, on account of it being so neat.

I think the extra bit in the nipple hole is connected to this possible set screw. I don't know how, the obvious use would be to secure a tang or adapter, but I thought the nipple hole was for that, why would they need a second lower one with a different diameter hole? Unless the emitter plate and nipple are a separate piece like the V2 replica kits out there.

I want to vote no on the cast, mostly because there wasn't supposed to be a gap between the clamp area and booster area, theoretically. Unless you mean a new cast, then I'm not sure!

Also, on a separate note (the nipple problem is my biggest thing lately) I would like to know if anyone knows if the Disney stream has color alterations? I suddenly am not seeing all brass. The card has orangey hues.

I assume their scans / color correction is more correct than we’ve previously seen.
Further color correction is possible by matching Vader’s bodysuit and chest box to true-color examples and reveals more clearly that the card has copper traces against brass rails. Which I suspect received (either) copper tape or wind-vane paint later on for the cave scene.
I attempted that earlier to mixed reviews

This is part of research, I'm on board with the ..board.. now, especially that the copper is so freaking polished it makes it hard to tell :D Yea, the cave scene also really looks like the neck and rails match, or was the intent.

I may have to pick up a board..

color correction aside, how about ruining the color by boosting everything to bring out the color themes. I did this for myself just now, and while I don't agree from a design and artists standpoint, the board is not brass. I'm sorry it took so long for me.

I never thought the card had brass traces, but possibly gold-plated ones. Look at the top and bottom traces. Color-wise, they are almost the same as the rails, or only slightly more orange.

The middle traces are definitely darker. To me, that's actually the strongest argument against the card traces being gold, since that could be tarnishing, and gold doesn't tarnish like that. Copper does. Or you could argue that they're gold, and it's just dirt and oils from someone's thumb.

Either way, something is causing the middle traces to be darker. I bought two of BRRogers cards and will likely get the traces on one gold plated. I'll handle them, let them age a bit, and swap them out and see which one feels best to me.

Went ahead and JUST brasso polished one of my cards and grabbed my extra brass stock.
Next to my rail concept for the Cave Hero/ naturally aged copper card + copper tape on rails.

Personally I'm going to say that, they probably polished the card right before the scene, hence the bright reflection and rosy color on the ends.
The dark spot does look muddy regardless of reflection. So it probably is early oxidation of some kind
I just did a cool blue filter over the second image with a light desaturation. Looks like a dead ringer to me. Not trying to be biased I swear! XD

Yea, I'm sorry I misspoke, I meant to use the word gold - this is certainly a perplexing prop

Interesting setup: unfortunately trace width and spacing is too dense.

also looking for green over blue not vice versa ;)

.... looking for 13 traces p/ 2 inches

Light update on the MoM hilt:

There is more GOOD news to come...

I'd be lying if I said Adam and I don't feel a bit ragged at this point...
Due to perhaps Covid or any other complications related to it we've been forced to hop vendors over the past few months along with 7Chambers.
It sucks when you have a GREAT quote and a competent machinist but they jerk you around FOR MONTHS and don't make good on your timetable. We dealt with that first and decided to drop them in favor for someone who was much more communicative.
Then with them we've found ourselves in this really ... odd ... financial negotiation to get a prototype.

Adam and I WILL NOT pull the trigger on full production until we can verify the quality of the intricacies we've specified with our machinist... yet it's been strangely difficult to cull a prototype in our negotiation for some reason. Timeline and manpower apparently for the machinist.

SO.
To the point:
Prototype is coming. Actually, a couple are.
Adam's machine drawings are so precise along with the model that we can ask for EXTREMELY high tolerances/ specs... so anyone capable with the proper tools should be able to reproduce it to that spec.
We finally managed to land on a deal for a prototype from our (now) manufacturer so we can verify the crucial components, AND we're getting a second prototype hilt machined in the UK.

The *actual* run machinist will ship the crucial components to Adam for verification between myself and him, and the UK machinist will be able to supply 7Chambers a prototype to begin some much delayed (and necessary) promo.
So, we are fingers crossed (I'm sure with all of you) that there will be some more good news and progress in the next couple weeks.

Going for full disclosure here so I hope you guys know where we are at and can bear with us a bit longer.

o_O o_O o_O
