Don’t give Disney ideas! XD
One way to see it. Vader is Sith. And that's the way of the Sith. The strong survive. The weak don't. Vader is resigned to his fate, whether that is Luke killing him and ascending. Or Palpatine killing him and replacing him.I thought I posted this a few days ago, but can't seem to find it now. Sorry if a repeat....
In ROTJ, when Luke severed Vader's mechanical right hand/saber, why did Vader yield so quickly? His saber was gone, but he had not lost his strength or his Force powers. What gives? Certainly, Vader knew that Palpatine was going to cull him and have Luke as his new apprentice.

Why Tales of the Jedi? This has nothing to do with the Dark Horse series. And particularly after Tom Veitch's recent passing. Not the hottest idea.
And there's more Ahsoka, and she's at Padmé's funeral.....oh please. And I'm pretty sure that retcons the Ahsoka novel. So much for a single cohesive continuity. There's a definite Canon hierarchy still. With the comics and books being less "Canon."
And Mace has his AOTC lightsaber? Shouldn't he have a different lightsaber this early?
And Yaddle used to be alive during The Clone Wars, I think.
The original, hands down. What do you guys think? Which is your favorite?
I was going to say, Canon used to mean just George's works....but heck...it didn't mean anything then either. LolCanon means nothing anymore. It hasn't for a long time.
I think I'm getting more cynical in my old ageWhoa whoa whoa whoa!!!
Whoa!!!
Some one get me a thermometer!! I need to check the 7 circles of hell, see if they are frozen over, because this is the first I’ve seen joker complain about Star Wars!!
Teasing buddy
Agreed. Cashing in on name brand although Jedi Tales doesnt have the same ring (Jedi tales wooo).View attachment 1615732

Extra suspicious that The Tales of the Jedi comic just got a reprint...Agreed. Cashing in on name brand although Jedi Tales doesnt have the same ring (Jedi tales wooo).
The Padme funeral was a big occasion so maybe Ahsoka was in the background. I do think the canon hierarchy is films, then comics/books as long as they dont break canon, then everything else (pretty sure video games are non-canon or alt-canon at best like Force Unleashed) although Disney has changed that by saying Fallen order is canon.
Cant see the hilt well enough but it should not have any electum (gold plating) on it since electum is reserved for council members only. Not sure when Windu became a master to be exact but Dooku seems young here so probably still not a master yet.
Although they have Dooku right with having his curved hilt, he was a pretty straight-laced jedi based on his book iirc. He isnt this dark master that was flirting with the dark side, especially while training Qui Gon. If anything, he was an exemplary jedi that was Qui Gon's idol and didnt really become disillusioned with the jedi and republic until Qui Gon's death.
Agreed. The ST is contentious and Im not a fan but if they want to continue, they need to continue with the ST. Its honestly why I thought Ben/Kylo Ren dying was stupid because he was a popular character that could have had his own series. Rey as a character is pretty boring in the movies but a show centered on her can focus on her inner conflict and build up her character and flaws/lessons learned which will transform her into a new character. I do think post-ST could open up with new stories since the alliance needs to rebuild the government and now that the original 3 are dead and other rebels are shown to be incompetent, its really up to Finn, Poe, and Rey to rebuild.I can't take any of the changes seriously. I mean if you're going to claim an all encompassing canon as being official, and then immediately change it because you found yourself backed into a corner, then just don't announce that it's all part of this cohesive story. At least that way it would be a more honest approach. I'm not discounting George's changes either, but since Disney owns the thing, and has for a decade, the focus is on them now. They own it. They control it, and their first official order of business was to proclaim that their canon was all reaching, even down to the ancillary material. Lucas isn't involved anymore, so his direction and way of doing things isn't relevant to the brand as it has been for a decade. I don't care how much they claim they're "honoring his legacy," they'll do whatever they can to keep the brand going.
When the writers realized that it backed them into a corner, they downplayed that proclamation and made whatever changes they deemed necessary to sell new product. That's the problem with telling stories with the same characters over and over again. You try and bring some finality, some agency to a story by upping the tension. Characters die, organizations change allegiences, stories are suddenly embraced by millions because they're done so well, and then you undo ALL of it when you keep trying to pull blood from a stone and changing things to appease shareholders rather than trust that an audience might just want something new.
Until they start moving away from the known, they will only further dilute, or outright destroy what came before. So if they honestly believe that the brand is bigger than the Skywalkers, or the Rebel/ Imperial conflict, as so many claim it to be, then they better invent new characters and scenarios to show off this unlimited scope that they keep bragging is infused into Star Wars as a brand. Mandalorian is the ONLY thing that tried something totally new. Rogue One still relied on the Rebel/ Imperial conflict, and Andor will be the same, so that doesn't count. No more Ashoka and Clone Wars 5.0 or whatever version they're doing now. No more Luke. No more Han, or Obi-Wan. No legacy characters. NEW characters. NEW scenarios.
Until then, it's just more of the same and the brand will die.
