That's cool! Just pre-ordered it from a different vendor because I'm not a fan of monsters in motion.

I'm still bitter about their 1:48 Gunstar model kit. Ordered and got back in the late '90s. Laid it out and checked all the parts. It was missing all of the gun brackets. I e-mailed them for the bits the kit was missing. No go -- they don't do piecemeal. I'd have to order a whole 'nother kit.

So I read that many birds of prey may live about 14 years, which means the oldest would have been hatched after the year 2000. That means all falcons are millennial falcons.

I read about him for the very first time like last year and it's a damn shame he was never given the credit he rightfully deserved!

Anybody wish Luke's lightsaber had stayed blue for Return of the Jedi? I think I still prefer the green myself but I love the way it looks on the poster and I always wonder if I would've liked it more had it been blue in the movie too.

We do get to see it in that cool teaser trailer for Revenge of the Jedi. Though to give you an idea of how it could have looked in the finished film, here is a fan effort:

Haven't seen this one! The last fan edit I saw wasn't nearly as good as this as you could still see the green showing through. I love how he gave it the ANH flicker too which I've come to prefer over the years. At least I think I see it flickering.

On the one hand I love the green because it underscores that Luke has become his own man (and it looks good) but then I love the blue because it carries the feel of the previous films and, well, it just simply looks so damn good!

I don't have a preference, I like them both. My issue is with Luke building his own lightsaber. It's dumb. Do knights and ninjas forge their own swords?
That was one of the dumb things that set a dumb precedent for the dumb things in the dumb prequels.

To be fair, for both knights and samurai, they were largely the only warrior class that actually "owned" their sword, and weren't just lent one in battle. Sword forging in Medieval times required the skill of a specialist swordsmith. You couldn't go up to any random blacksmith in town and commission one, firstly because it was expensive to do so, and because not every blacksmith had the know-how to do it. So in a sense, no knights and samurai didn't hand forge their own swords, but they did commission them and likely would have worked with the smithy to build the sword in accordance to the knight's/samurai's strengths.

That's actually pretty close to how it was portrayed in The Clone Wars. Younglings build their lightsabers with the assistance of a Jedi master, and the guidance of the Temple lightsaber archivist droid.

Unfortunately for Luke, he had neither of those to help him, and frankly it was lucky he didn't blow his own hand off upon ignition.

That's kind of what I would have prefered.
A sort of Jedi Hattori Hanzo.
If my evil father shot my gun out of my hand, I wouldn't go to a cave and build a new gun. I'd go to the gunsmith and buy a new gun.
