Yep, all true. Wish they'd clean up the area too.

What's true also is that the honored celebrities have to pay for their own star! It's still an honor to be chosen, but not a free one!

That, I didn't know. For all of my gripes about celebrities, I have to side with them on this one. That seems pretty silly to have to pay for your own star. I get that there is limited space. The strip isn't that long as far as I remember.

I just looked and people like Clint Eastwood, Denzel Washington, Leonardo Dicaprio, Julia Roberts and Madonna(among others) have refused a Star on the HWOF. They definitely couldn't afford it...I feel horrible for them...lol,jk

Honestly, i actually admire that decision( by the actors/actresses that refuse)even though i don't know their motives.

I've been there. They make it look glamorous on television and in the movies, but the actual area is a total dump. A lot of the strip looks like a Hot Topic store, just with more trash on the streets.

If you go north to Pasadena there are some nicer areas.
I'd prefer Spencer's Gifts from the 1980's myself:

Life must be so tough for them. Lol.
I have no disdain for them at all, they are human beings just like me...It's just sort of ironic to me on the surface( If you really want the cherry on top of your career you're going to have to pay for it...lol) but this is what they say it's for:

The adjacent property owners paid for the land for the first 1,500 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Today, the cost of a star ceremony is covered by a sponsorship fee of $75,000. This fee covers the following costs:
  • Creation and installation of the star
  • Maintenance of the Walk of Fame
  • Permits
  • Police for off-duty officers
  • Fire department
  • Production costs
  • Barricade
  • Security
  • Photography

The Hollywood Historic Trust is responsible for maintaining the Walk of Fame and the floral arrangements. They receive a portion of the sponsorship fee to cover these costs.

I was expecting George Lucas to show up to Ewan's ceremony...but because Ewan mentioned something derogatory about Jar Jar, he got dissed..lol( I'm just joking).

Oh sure, CopperRevan , throw out the disclaimer because greenmachines is going to fall for it. I know you lol'd when typed that for me.

But we all know JarJar toppled the republic with his temporary pseudo statesman power in the senate. Kenobi knows it and so does George.

The next Star Wars alien villain: George Lucas' weird neck pouch! o_O
That's not how he really looks and i can prove it!

One of my sources spotted him flirting with a woman and got us a photo...No wonder Lucas and Spielberg are such good friends!

Jar Jar Binks: A Star Wars Patsy. A Disney + limited series

Coming December 2026

I've said before that I would rather watch a 3hr Jar Jar biopic than the Sequel movies. I have to go back on that after seeing the "A Disney + limited series" tag. I'll pass.

I was looking at an old SW Insider today from 2005, and someone asked about why all the clones followed Order 66 and didn't question it. I think Lucas coming up with the ridiculous brain chip for the Clonetroopers in TCW was really stupid. I liked the Insider answer (and EU) that clones find it almost impossible to ignore or a lawful order so they followed it. The thing that was interesting is that they said the problem the Jedi had was that the clones were conditioned to be loyal above all to the Republic. So I think somewhere in there it had to also include Palpatine because I don't think, being only loyal to the Republic, they would follow an Empire. I'm guessing because technically the Empire was created legally, because the Senate applauded it and I assume later ratified it, the clones would see that as a successor.

George is very sensitive to negative comments about JarJar. It is not as altruistic as you might think. The neck pouch is genetic proof that George is Gungan, which also explains his sudden and unfathomable belief that Disney is doing great with Star Wars. Obviously, Disney has a Sith on staff and George's Gungan genetics make him susceptible to mental persuasion. If you need any further proof, watch the progression of George vs your standard Gungan during their lifespans.

If you tried snorting that, it certainly would have been a different experience! :p

That is actually a very happy memory of my best friend joking about sniffing coke while putting his soda straw up his nose. He laughed at his own joke, snort laughed. Cola straight up his nose. The coughing and sneezing and yelling lasted at least five minutes. It was overwhelmingly funny. I think we were maybe 8.
