George compared it to a relationship breakup when he sold the franchise.

For him to watch the new Disney SW stuff now, I wonder if it would feel too much like following his ex on Facebook. Eff that. You gotta keep your distance.

Anyone else think it's kind of lame that Boba Fett taught Tuskens about speeders? Seems like an insult to their intelligence, as speeders on Tatooine are not a new thing. Tuskens could have snagged a speeder or a sandcrawler (or any such machinery) any time they wanted. They must have had a different reason for never using them. In fact, they were raiding Luke's landspeeder for parts or contents; they clearly had no use for it as transport.

Makes Boba seem even more silly when he's trying to explain to them that it's like Banthas, but better.

As I recall in the EU, the Tuskens kinda shun technology. Or at least technology from outsiders. (Possibly in response to Rakata.) It was considered sacrilegious to use such technology.

Cause and effect. It's true in life. It's true in fiction. A series of events happening in sequential order is nowhere near as interesting as a series of events evolving as the decisions (Agency) of the characters are affecting those events or responding to them.

These are BASIC fiction writing tools that so many writers in Hollywood are either unaware of, or simply have no clue how to use. These are the kinds of rules I'm constantly referring to when I'm talking about objective, measurable, teachable methods of storytelling. You literally couldn't teach someone HOW to write fiction without these rules. Acting as if they're arbitrary and completely subjective misses the point entirely. If you have no standard to measure quality, then good or bad are meaningless.

Did anyone see the recent tweet from Gina Carano on the South Park episode and how Kathleen Kennedy, in her experience, is likely to respond? I think it would be HIL-ARIOUS if KK tried to get the South Park guys to apologize. I would love to see their response episode.
I did. And she even dove deeper into behind the scenes, where she was told to unfollow several people on Twitter because they didn’t align with Kennedy’s view, IIRC.

I think that's why many out there want to do away with those standards: so they can do as they please and entertain any and all of their ideas, no matter how inane, with absolutely zero consequences.

You can't call a character, story arc or even a concept for a show or movie bad or inappropriate if there is no basis to judge it by.

You also can't say anything is good if there's no standard either. It's all arbitrary.

Also happy N7 Day!

I had a bootleg copy from someone who recorded it on DVD and i watched it all the time back then. Invited a friends over more than several times to watch the series whenever we needed something to inspire us. It was pretty special.
OK i gotta go watch it.

I used to own an official copy on DVD but lent it out and never got it back. I'll have to pick up another copy at some point. Maybe I'll look online tonight and grab one. You two have inspired me. ;)

I have been looking back through some old SW Insider magazines and around 2007 Rick McCallum and Lucas had updates for an upcoming live action SW tv show. They mentioned it being set between ROTS and ANH and would feature Stormtroopers and Boba Fett. Was this that same show that a video was released for on Youtube a while back that looked like an early test?

I think so. Star Wars Underworld was its name.
