Ron was joking. I'm sure most of you know him well enough to recognize it. ;)

As for that other guy....I don't even know what that was all about.
I have two versions of the Star Wars encyclopedia, all three technical journals, and various cross-section/art books. I'm in no position to call anyone else a nerd lol.
It's the reason TheRPF exists, you know...
Wouldn't want it any other way;)

Here's a (somewhat) satirical look at everybody's favorite light freighter, the Millennium Falcon. But even though it's (somewhat) satirical, I do feel that the guys (whose channel persona is that of an alien) does make some valid point.

You guys really arguing over trooper armor?

Nerds.

You'd be amazed at the number of people who lose their minds when I confront them with the fact that Boba Fett is not an original design to Fett itself, nor the Super Trooper, but in fact that everything aesthetically speaking w/ the Mandalorian armor design originates with the Snowtrooper concepts exclusively. That sure gets jimmies rustled

Snowtroopers were being discussed, so I've decided to come out of my hibernation and become worse.

The reality is that a lot of folks who don't even have a rudimentary understanding of military forces tend to stick with very surface level concepts. It's why when people say "Snowtroopers are just Stormtroopers wearing cold weather gear" (yes people genuinely believe this dog-water), I have nothing more to give to this person's sensibilities than a desire to suplex them into oblivion.

It's like, let's just throw these guys into a generic category of "soldier," while completely ignoring the fact that Snowtroopers are quite literally a specialized force insofar that they are specifically trained for warfare in arctic conditions. Nevermind the fact that these Snowtroopers need to know how to live and survive in such conditions. I suppose we could go down the rabbit hole of realism by comparing what we know about arctic survival in the real worlf VS a fictional one where it's likely they would be deployed in locations that can very much be consider far more hostile.

My point being is that you can't just throw some regular infantry dude in snowtrooper armor and genuinely think the dude is gonna just excel without taking a dirt nap and turning into a frozen popsicle. The only exception to this on Hoth was the fact that Vader had brought his personal 501st members down with him, but frankly that doesn't count for anything IMO. It's like someone saying they're "airborne infantry" cause they went to support an actual airborne unit but never actually doing training or even an actual jump.

As for the call out to the rank being on the chest plate, I don't take rank/insignia seriously in star wars. It's inconsistent, all over the place and when it comes to the cosmetics, you're working with a fictional military. Veer's has his insignia on his armor. I'd agree moreso if they were more akin to real-world military. Even then, as I explained above, that doesn't mean they're infantry. Stormtroopers in of themselves are suppose to a step above standard infantry. The Empire has standard army forces that qualify for that designation, so again, given their extremely specialized training and focus, it's quite inappropriate to classify them as "infantry"

This is a bad take.

The only thing specialized about scout troopers is the fact they're given speederbikes with the express purpose of turning off their birthdays themselves.

Go research any actual arctic survival training and combat before making such silly remarks.

If you think that was an insult, I'm afraid you're comprehension skills are lacking, but ok.

As per my last post, Scouts are only good for dying to care bears and inanimate objects, specifically, trees.

Snowtroopers are actually designed for their environment (on top of the whole being combat effective), they even have armor that matches. Scouts? Nope. They're quite clearly designed to be seen from a mile away in a dense forest. The fact that they were given speeder bikes at least painted in a dark brown/black color comes off as if the Empire was mocking the fact that Scouts lack any sort of camo.

I think the scout fans are unironically depressed and see this fatal flaw in their existence as a self-identifying attribute which is kind of sad.

I mean just ignore the troll.

Dude came into a fan forum where people discuss the intricacy of props (I mean how nerdy can you get beyond that?) and called them normies. He also hasnt contributed anything of actual substance to the conversation.

FWIW there are also Scouts with black armor, appropriately called Shadow Scouts. Hopefully we will see them live action one day.

Yes, but is the black armor supposed to make them stealthy like that all black """""stealth""""" AT-AT that wears a cardboard sign around it's neck that says "ignore me"?

Have we ever seen what a Tusken Raider or a Jawa actually look like under the robes?

In the EU. Possibly. We get a glimpse in the Republic comics. But Anakin is having a kind of vision, so it's possible that's just he imagines them as looking.

There also these guys from Dark Forces 2. Grave Tuskens

As far as Jawas go. No appearances. But we do have a description, from The New Essential Guide to Alien Species. "Through the study of corpses and skeletal remains, Baobab xenobiologists discovered that Jawas appeared to be gaunt, rodent-like creatures, with shrunken faces and yellow eyes."
